Singaporean Dota 2 squad First Departure has completely reformed the team, keeping only the captain, Chan “Lubby” Jun Jie, from the latest version of the squad.
Galvin “Meracle” Kang Jian Wen, Wilson “Poloson” Koh Chin Wei, Paul “Hana” Tan Ke Da and Joel “Chibix” Chan Jian Yong will rejoin their former team. All of them have been a part of First Departure multiple times in the past.
First Departure made the official announcement on their Facebook page.
First Departure recent performances
First Departure have not had any wins in a minor or major tournament since September of 2014, when they took first place at the Summit 2 SEA Qualifiers although they were unfortunately unable to attend. They took second place at the SEA Dragon Battle. The team also placed first in the Starladder Season 10 Preseason but has had no additional achievements ever since.
First Departure recycling
In 2012, Meracle had joined the team that was already featuring Hana, Lubby and Poloson. In October of 2013, he left the team to replace Liu “Sylar” Jiajun at Rising Stars. Hana and Poloson also left in January 2014.
After multiple cycles of players passing through, Meracle and Lubby rejoined in August 2014. Hana and Poloson also came back in November. Hana departed in mid January 2015, when he forced to enlist in the army, and then two weeks later Meracle and Poloson left to join 5Eva, leaving Lubby behind. Chibix has played for First Departure for one month, in February of 2014.
5Eva
Both Meracle and Poloson come directly from the recently disbanded 5Eva, after the team placed last in their TI5 SEA qualifiers group, having won only one best-of-two series.
Meracle had voiced his dissatisfaction with the team’s performances as of late.

He later on that same day announced the team was disbanding.
