The DreamLeague Season 4 playoffs are around the corner, starting tomorrow, November 26th.
Six qualified teams – OG, Alliance, Vega Squadron, 4 Clovers & Lepricon, Monkey Freedom Fighters and Team Empire – will be competing between November 26th-29th for the $150,000 prize pool at DreamHack Winter 2015, in Jönköping, Sweden.
Now that the Frankfurt Major has finished, teams are gearing up for DreamLeague Season 4.
The competition kicks off tomorrow, November 26th. Six teams have qualified during the DreamLeague Season 4 league play and will now fight for the prize pool of $150,000 in a LAN setting, at DreamHack Winter.
The talent list includes fan favorites from the league season – Sheever, Draskyl, ODPixel, Shane and Luminous, who will be joined by other popular casters and stars such as Peter “ppd” Dager and Troels ”Synderen” Nielsen.

After The International 5, Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein rejoined forces with longtime former teammate and friend, Tal “Fly” Aizik. The duo played together in Fnatic’s Heroes of Newerth team, which then made the transition to Dota 2.
One of the steadiest teams to come down the pike in the new season, Monkey Business have had a strong presence in the Dota scene ever since their inception. The squad had recently placed 3rd-4th at the MLG World Finals and had secured the top Frankfurt Major spot in the European qualifiers.
On October 31st, Monkey Business officially launched OG, a new brand created by the players, in collaboration with a small group of industry professionals and HitBox.tv. The new organization will be guided by the need for transparency in the decision-making process, balanced with increased attention to the players’ rights.
The European sweethearts have just bested NA giants Evil Geniuses and upset Team Secret to become the Frankfurt Major champions.

After a well-deserved break following The International 5, Team Empire announced a part of their roster changes for the new season, on August 25th, when they parted ways with Maxim “yoky” Kim and Andrey “ALWAYSWANNAFLY” Bondarenko and welcomed former XX5 and Molodoya Komanda player, Ivan “ubah” Kapustin and former Aspera player Andrey “The_apathy” Aleshkov.
For the Frankfurt Major open qualifiers, the team welcomed back Yoky, Alexander “NoFear” Churochkin as the captain and confirmed their Open Qualifiers lineup to include nofear, Resolut1on, Silent, yoky and ALOHADANCE.
However, Empire struggled to maintain a stable roster and find an appropriate replacement, with Yoky leaving once again. The team has been struggling in the last few months.
Gleb “Funn1k” Lipatnikov will be standing in for the CIS team for DreamLeague Season 4.

In late March, after Goblak left Na’Vi, he put together a new team with some other known teamless professional players. 4 Clovers & Lepricon made a strong and impressive debut, claiming the Esportal Open Qualifier #3 LAN spot, after defeating 4 Anchors and Sea Captain, on April 15. However, following that performance, the team was defeated by m5, on April 19, in the first round of the Yard Festival and by YES on April 28th in the first round of the DreamLeague Qualifiers #4.
Less than one month after forming 4 Clovers & Lepricon, captain and founder Artur “Goblak” Kostenko parted ways with the team. There has been no statement about the reasons surrounding his short lived affiliation with 4CL. Ivan “Vanskor” Skorokhod stepped in to take the support role, although still being listed as a reserve/inactive player for Natus Vincere.
Only three days after Goblak’s departure, Kai “H4nn1” Hanbückers announced his retirement from the competitive scene. Swedish player Niklas “Wagamama” Högström would take his place on 4 Clovers & Lepricon.
4CL did not advance beyond the first day of the TI5 open qualifiers. Only a few days later, the team faced its third roster change in less than two months, with the addition of Jerry “EGM” Lundkvist and Omar “w33haa” Aliwi.
The team then suffered additional changes in the roster in August as 4CL lost three players: Wagamama and Vanskor walked away on August 19th, while w33haa parted ways with the team, in order to join Team Secret, on August 21st.
The team has since continued a strong presence in the scene, playing various tournaments taking third place in the Alienware Summer’s End Cup and first place in Moonduck Studio’s debut tournament Elimination Mode.

Alliance revealed their revamped roster for the new season, in time for the roster lock for the Frankfurt Major. The all-Swedish lineup includes Johan “Mynuts” Andersson and Gustav “s4” Magnusson – who had been expected to return to the Alliance family. s4 resumed the captain role, while Mynuts assumed his place in the support role.
Alliance has recently had renewed success with their roster. The Swedish team has recently qualified for the Frankfurt Major, placing 9th at the event and qualified for WCA 2015.
The team went undefeated in their StarLadder i-League group stage, and were at the top of their group in The Defense 5, with a 8-2 score, qualifying for the LAN in Berlin December 5-6.
Recently they withdrew from the Game Show Global eSports Cup Season 1 citing “private reasons within the team” and dropped out of The Summit 4 European Qualifiers due to heavy time constraints.

For the second time since TI5, Vega Squadron have announced that they will not be making any roster changes for the current roster unlock period. The CIS team had already made the commitment to stay together as a team following their early exit from TI5.
They then went on to claim the championship title at ESL One New York, after besting Team Secret 2:1.
Vega Squadron went on to take 12th place at the Frankfurt Major. The CIS team was seeded into the Upper Brackets, but fell short to Evil Geniuses 1:2 and were dropped to the lower brackets. They were then eliminated after losing to EHOME in the lower brackets 0:2.

The squad made its first appearance during the post-TI5 shuffle, on August 22nd, when they participated in the ESL One New York Open Qualifiers. On August 27th, PARIS, 7ckngMad, YapzOr, Ar1sE, and SingSing registered for the Frankfurt Major. The team has since been invited to and participated in several tournaments and qualifiers.
When Ionuț “Ar1sE” Turtoi decided to leave the team and stand in for Arcade.PowerRangers, on September 25th, he was replaced by Selim “Neqroman” Oynar.
After failing to make it through the Frankfurt Major Open Qualifiers, Monkey Freedom Fighters announced their disbandment, on October 9th.
WehSing “SingSing” Yuen and Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat had then decided to keep the squad going, and were then accompanied by Ionuț “Ar1sE” Turtoi and Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho – at least for the time being.
Ar1sE, who was a stand-in for Arcade.PowerRangers for a brief period of time, told DotaBlast that the new MFF mix was put together especially for DreamLeague and Game Show.
I didn’t have a contract with Power Rangers. I merely played a couple of games with them, so it wasn’t anything set in stone. We’ve had a nice run, they’re all great guys. The MFF arrangement isn’t set in stone either. MFF have decided to keep the team going a while longer, since they had already secured spots in DreamLeague and Game Show. I’ll be a stand-in, it’s a temporary position, I haven’t made any final decisions yet. We’ll see how things go.
