Recently “benched” and labelled as inactive players by Natus Vincere and ASUS.Polar, Ivan “Vanskor” Skorokhod and Vadim “Sedoy” Musorin are rumored to be scraping together a team of their own, including Alexei “Solo” Berezin, Roman “Scandal” Sadotenkov and Ivan “Ubah” Kapustin. Official statements made by both organizations cited personal and health reasons for the two players’ status changes. However, Vanskor and Sedoy seem to have already recovered and moved to a new lineup.
The information surfaced on a Russian social network, bearing #dota2 and #inside hashtags. According to the Russian post, the new mix would include Vanskor, Solo, Uban, Scandal, and Sedoy. The text raises questions regarding the Natus Vincere and ASUS.Polar official statements, which claim that both players remain with their respective organizations, on “inactive” or “reserve” statuses.
As previously reported on March 9, when DKPhobos got transferred by Natus Vincere, ASUS.Polar was left with only three team members. Virtus.Pro members Vadim “Sedoy” Musorin and Sergey “God” Bragin joined the Polar team as stand-ins, on March 11, when Virtus.Pro dissolved their main squad. God has become an official member of the team, while Sedoy stays on as an emergency player. Virtus Pro states that the desire to re-acquire DKPhobos was mutual between the organization and the player, prompted by the fact that Sedoy allegedly needed some personal time away from competitive gaming.
Then on April 5, Natus Vincere announce Funn1k and Artstyle’s return to the squad and clarify Vanskor’r situation through an official statement:
Meanwhile, Ivan “Vanskor” Skorohod acquires inactive status, yet retaining the position of the sixth player. Being a reserve player, Ivan will be able to restore his health, and Natus Vincere team will do all they can to make the recovery faster.
Alexei “Solo” Berezin and Ivan “Ubah” Kapustin (previously with XX5, which dissolved just days ago) and Roman “Scandal” Sadotenkov (who played for Virtus.Pro until November 2014 and has not been on any significant or stable team since) are rumored to be joining Vanskor and Sedoy on a new squad.
Best put by Vanskor himself, “only time will tell” if this team will have what it takes to qualify for The International 5 and be a long lasting roster.
