LIVE UPDATES: Frankfurt Major brackets, standings and match summaries

21:45 CET: Frankfurt Major Brackets: Day 3

The Frankfurt Major Day 3 Standings. pic.twitter.com/FjT5oHdP9g

— Wykrhm Reddy (@wykrhm) November 18, 2015

  • Upper Brackets: Evil Geniuses and Team Secret
  • Lower Brackets: Virtus.Pro, OG, ViCi Gaming and CDEC
  • Eliminated: Mineski and Alliance
  • 21:35 CET: Upper Frankfurt Major Brackets: Team Secret vs ViCi Gaming

Team Secret took Wind Ranger for Aliwi “w33” Omar. ViCi Gaming went with a Tide Hunter. The game was filled with massive team fights that were intense and filled with clutch plays, narrow escapes and much excitement. Xu “BurNIng” Zhilei  on Juggernaut Xie “Super” Junhao on Ember Spirit were outstanding, sending ViCi Gaming to their victory.

Props to Super this game. His late game movement around the map has been so on spot. #FrankfurtMajor

    — Wykrhm Reddy (@wykrhm) November 18, 2015

Team Secret went with a very unconditional draft with Huskar, Tiny on support, and Doom. They also drafted w33 his signature Meepo. The Europeans drew first blood and the game was pretty much all of Team Secrets until the end. The surprise Huskar pick was played incredibly well by Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao and w33 was as expected on his meepo, bringing the team to victory and tying the series.

In the third game it seemed that ViCi Gaming was outdrafted and outplayed. W33 showcased a great Invoker and Johan “pieliedie” Åström did great on his Bounty Hunter as usual. Although Super made a exciting play at Roshan, it wasn’t enough for ViCi Gaming and the team as a whole seemed to be under performing this match. After a team wipe at 25 minutes, the Chinese team called “GG”.

Did he just steal roshlasthit AND deny aegis with his wolves ? VG.Super ???

    — WagaGaming (@WagaGaming) November 18, 2015

    • Frankfurt Major standings: Team Secret bested ViCi Gaming 2:1 and will advance into the Winner Finals of the Frankfurt Major brackets. ViCi Gaming will drop to the lower brackets.

17:50 CET: Upper Frankfurt Major Brackets: Evil Geniuses vs CDEC

The first game Evil Geniuses picked Syed Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan Timbersaw again, a hero he has been having much success with. EG had banned a few of Huang “ShiKi” Jiwei  heroes and the Ember Spirit pick for CDEC was somewhat questionable. EG had heroes that could counter it and Sun “Agressif” Zheng was not able to play how he usually played, ending with 0:7:8. Evil Geniuses just crushed CDEC to take the first victory.

OH MY GOD! @EvilGeniuses TAKE DOWN ALL FIVE FROM @CDECGaming! #FrankfurtMajor https://t.co/KzRMkaEzwA https://t.co/WHDViLk5aH

    — ESL Dota2 (@ESLDota2) November 18, 2015

The second game was much closer between the two teams. Niax seemed like it was a good hero pick for CDEC, because it looked like a decent counter to EG’s lineup but he proved to not be mobile enough and didn’t do well enough in late game. EG had great defensive swaps with their Vengful Spirit and Artour “Arteezy”  Babaev had a great game on Shadow Fiend.

GG! EG TAKE OUT THREE! @evilgeniuses knock @cdecgaming to the lower bracket! #FrankfurtMajor https://t.co/KzRMkaEzwA https://t.co/PGNnbCjlAU

    — ESL Dota2 (@ESLDota2) November 18, 2015

    • Frankfurt Major standings: Evil Geniuses swept CDEC and will advance into the Winner Finals of the Frankfurt Major brackets. Will drop to the lower brackets.

15:06 CET:: Lower Frankfurt Major Brackets: Alliance vs Virtus.Pro

Virtus.Pro’s lineup was very tanky, with a lot of stuns to control the team fight. Alliance’s linup was good but after VP bought BKB’s their heroes were useless. VP took first blood and maintained a slight advantage for almost the entire game until the end.

While @Fnggshka had a fantastic game @DkPhobos DS really made the fight winning plays. Well done @TeamVirtuspro pic.twitter.com/TAZAjb7UtX

    — Toby Dawson (@TobiWanDOTA) November 18, 2015

VP picked Ilya “Lil” Ilyuk  his signature Visage. The CIS once again claimed first blood but this time in an incredible display of skill and timing as Fng denied Sergey Alexandrovich “G” Bragin and then took first blood in the middle lane. VP continued to play a well coordinated, well executed game to take the victory of the game and the series.

    • Frankfurt Major standings: Virtus.Pro swept Alliance and will advance into the lower segment of the Frankfurt Major brackets. Alliance were eliminated.

12:20 CET: Lower Frankfurt Major Brackets: Mineski vs. OG

In the first game none of Mineski heroes were able to get farm or what they needed due to the amazing rotations by OG, especially their supports. OG heavily dominated the game from the very beginning and with a perfect game for Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein on Gyrocopter and a fantastic game by Amer “Miracle-“ al-Barqawi on Shadow Fiend, the Europeans topped the net-worth chart with four heroes and took the victory easily in 27 minutes with a score of 27:5.

btw @syndereNDota is right- this is the 499th game since the release of 6.80 where one team had a 20+k gold lead at 25 min. NONE have lost.

    — Nahaz (@NahazDota) November 18, 2015

In the second game Mineski had an incredible start with Carlo “Kuku” Palad on Queen of Pain having 8 kills by minute 8. However, things didn’t continue to go as well after about 15 minutes. Mineski didn’t seem to really activate the Tusk and Drow very much, and didn’t seem to find the openings they need. They began to lose control all over the map with OG being able to dominate at night with Nightstalker with Ags. Miracle- again continued to impress with his plays and performance. OG just was able to outclass Mineski in this series, taking the second victory.

OH MY GOD! @Miracle_Dota2 destroys @Mineski in the Rosh pit! #FrankfurtMajor https://t.co/Q7ynRpo5Nn https://t.co/tWMJio8wnC

    — ESL Dota2 (@ESLDota2) November 18, 2015

    • Frankfurt Major standings: OG swept Mineski, 2:0, and will advance into the lower segment of the Frankfurt Major brackets. Mineski were eliminated.

09:30 CET: The third day of the Frankfurt Major main event is about to get underway. Check out the live coverage hub put together by ESL and Valve.
