ESL One Frankfurt 2016 closes out the $1,000,000 pledge to Dota 2 and brings the festivities back to Germany in June 2016 with a $250,000 starting prize pool featuring eight of the best teams from around the world. ESL announced ESL One Manila – the organization’s first Dota 2 tournament to be held in Southeast Asia – between April 23-24, at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Manila, Philippines merely days ago.
Shortly following the news, the world’s largest esports company followed up with an additional reveal announcing the return of ESL One Frankfurt.
Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt will again host the ESL One Frankfurt 2016 Dota 2 festivities June the 18th to the 19th for a base prize pool of $250,000.
ESL One Frankfurt 2016 will mark the final milestone on the one million dollars in Dota 2 prize money pledge made almost a year ago by the company.
The festival promises to deliver on fan attractions and entertainment including a huge screen of more than 500 square meters,the official Valve Secret Shop, signing sessions with the pros, airbrush tattoos from your favorite teams, a cosplay competition, the return of our beloved balloon man Daniel “FuDD” Ravia, various sponsor activities, an archery range, a gladiator showdown, scavenger hunts, a unique virtual reality experience and also be an opening party on Friday and a party on Saturday.

Tickets for the event will go on sale very soon – December the 17th 2015:
Rank Seating – €29 (sit on the rank seats, while at the same time saving a bit on the ticket cost. Access to the festival remains the same)
Infield Seating ticket – €39 ( free seating on pitch level and are free to move around as you please. Of course you will still have access to all the festival activities.)
Premium ticket – €249 (seating right in front of the stage with exclusive signing sessions, exclusive Secret Shop premium ticket, unlimited food and drink and a bonus surprise to be announced soon)
The Aegis Experience – €2,999 (You and 4 friends get access to a private lounge and able to sit anywhere. All the premium perks apply plus front of the line access to signing sessions and venue entry.)
ESL One Frankfurt 2016 format
Eight teams will compete in a single elimination best-of-three series ending with a best-of-five grand finals. There will most likely not be a seeding tournament as seen in Frankfurt Major 2015 due to summer scheduling. Seeding is expected to be based on recent results from team performances.
ESL One Manila 2016
ESL One Manila will take place three months prior to ESL One Frankfurt 2016. According to ESL’s announcement, the organization’s first venture on the Asian continent will bring ESL to a yearly Dota 2 prize fund milestone of $750,000.
ESL has been eager to bring ESL One to Southeast Asia, and with the Philippines’ rich Dota 2 history, we couldn’t think of a better place. ESL One Manila by PLDT Fibr and GameX will make history as the region’s largest esports competition to date, and we’re confident we can deliver a world-class experience to local and international fans both at the venue and online.
The Mall of Asia Arena is an indoor arena within the SM Mall of Asia complex, in Manila, Philippines. A rather new, state-of-the-art building, the arena has only been inaugurated in 2012 and has a seating capacity of 16,000 for sporting events, and a full house capacity of 20,000.
ESL One Frankfurt 2015
Team Secret were unstoppable, taking their fourth consecutive LAN win at ESL One Frankfurt 2015. The European power house destroyed Evil Geniuses, 3:1, in the Grand Finals.
ESL One New York 2015
ESL One New York ended amid a flurry of excitement and unexpected outcomes, as Vega Squadron cruised to the grand finals to defeat Team Secret, 2:1, and claim the championship title.
