The first of the BTS Series events, held for the SEA region, has crowned Fnatic as the first champions. Fnatic convincingly swept through the Singaporean team, First Departure, 3:0 in the grand finals. The win is Fnatic’s second victory in a week, giving a glimpse into the team’s potential future success.

On August 27th, BTS announced that they would be hosting 18 competitions between the three regions of America, Southeast Asia and Europe, with a total of $180,000 in prize pool. The first region to participate was SouthEast Asia. Events for EU and Americas have not been announced yet.
14 invited and two qualified teams competed in a single elimination bracket tournament for $10,000 over the course of 10 days. The invited teams from the region included newly reformed top teams such as Fnatic and MVP.Hot6ix.
Fnatic advanced to the grand finals without suffering a single loss. The new multi-national roster swept through the qualified team, Burster.Onus, 2:0 in the first round and then Signature.Trust and TnC.
First Departure defeated Banaaaanas 2:1 in the first round, swept through iDeal and bested Ng “YamateH” Wei Poong’s Team SatuDuaTiga 2:1 in order to advance to the grand finals.
In a strong dominant manner, Fnatic swept through First Departure in the grand finals 3:0. This is the team’s second victory since their new roster has been formed at the end of August. Just four days ago the team bested MVP.Phoenix 3:2 in the ESL Sea qualifiers, earning them a spot to compete in ESL One New York in October.

The open qualifier was held August 29-30, on the FACEIT platform for the SEA region. Top two teams advanced to join the main event and First place team, Burster.Onus, received $500 prize.

Based on the success of the BTS Americas tournament held June/July 2015, the production studio will be invest $180,000 in total prize pool for 18 competitions to be held over the course of the next year. The initiative will now include Europe and Southeast Asia as well.
Each competition will have online open qualifiers, with the winners of each earning a spot to compete against the invited teams from their respective region. The open qualifiers are intended to help become a platform for up and coming talent and teams to have an opportunity to showcase their skills and gain exposure.
