The first day of the i-League Season 3 LAN finals has concluded with most of the Upper Bracket games being played. Alliance and LGD are still in the Upper Brackets, while Newbee, Energy Pacemakers, ViCi Gaming.Potential and Team Malaysia have dropped to the Lower Brackets.
Qualifier match squeezed in last minute
In order to replace Mouseports at the last moment, a qualifier match between the two Chinese group runner-ups, Invictus Gaming and Newbee.Youth was scheduled.
Mousesports had originally qualified by sweeping Summer’s Rift, 2-0, in the qualifier finals. When the North American representatives officially withdrew due to visa issues at the last minute, the organization turned to local teams to fill the space on short notice.
Invictus Gaming defeated Newbee.Youth, 2:1, and secured their place in the iLeague Season 3 LAN finals. IG will play their first match tomorrow versus rivals ViCi Gaming, at 09:00 am CEST.

Alliance vs. Energy Pacemakers
Alliance – the only western team in the iLeague Season 3 LAN finals, after Mousesports’ withdrawal, defeated the Chinese team Energy Pacemakers, 2:0, in their first round of the Upper Brackets.
Energy Pacemakers surprised fans when they qualified for the main event, by topping their group, ranking higher than E-Home and Invictus Gaming.

Team Malaysia vs. Newbee
Reigning TI champions Newbee took down Team Malaysia in the first game, and then impressively came back from a 0:7 kill deficit in the beginning of game two to sweep the Malaysians 2:0. Team Malaysia have dropped to the Lower Brackets while Newbee have moved ahead in the Upper Brackets.
Both teams have received direct invites to The International 5 and were met with mixed reactions from the community.
ViCi Gaming Potential vs. LGD
LGD, the iLeague Season 2 champions, squared off against ViCi Gaming’s youth squad, ViCi Gaming Potential, formed in March of 2015. LGD got off to a rough start dropping two kills in the first two minutes to VG.Potential but that wasn’t enough for VG.Potential to control the game or secure the win.
Second game started with LGD claiming first blood at the top rune before it appeared for the first time. Both teams went in with four heroes, but ViCi Gaming Potential immediately backed off and retreated. LGD were able to continue to dominate the game and ended it in just under 20 minutes, sweeping the youth team 2:0.
Newbee vs. LGD
Despite a mid-late game oriented line up for LGD, Newbee were able to establish a lead in early game and continue it to secure the win in the first game.
LGD had a much better early game than in the previous match. Although Newbee managed a Roshan kill around minute 16, the fight that followed ended up in a four-hero wipe and loss of the aegis. LGD was able to claim the second game to tie up the series and force a deciding third game.
Newbee secured first blood in the third game, but were always slightly behind LGD and never able to close the gap or turn the tides. LGD was able to clinch the series, 2:1, and continue to in the iLeague Season 3 LAN finals Upper Brackets.
