NP battled through the Lower Brackets, but found themselves beyond their depth in the grand finals against TI6 champions, Wings Gaming. The Chinese appeared to have many more arrows in their quiver and closed the series 2:0 to take their fifth championship title.
Wings have had a good innings lately. Last week, the team was nominated for the prestigious Laureus Awards, alongside well known athletes and sports teams from across the world. Wings also received a certificate from the Guiness World Records for winning the largest single prize in esports – $9,139,002.
Team NP will have the opportunity to redeem themselves on November 16th, when they will go up against Wings Gaming once again, this time in the first round of the Summit 6 Upper Brackets.
