UPDATE (August 13th):
TI6 final standings, updates and highlights – HERE
Unable to find a balance between farming and fighting, Alliance were knocked out of TI6 contention by Fnatic, 2:0, finishing 9th-12th overall. The Malaysians have secured a Top 8 finish and will move forward in the Lower Brackets.
Liquid have secured a Top 8 placement as well and will advance in the Lower Brackets to face Fnatic, after outdrafting, outplaying and eventually eliminating TI4 champions Newbee.
MVP.Phoenix were no match for Wings Gaming, in the Upper Brackets. The Chinese took the series, 2:0, becoming the first team to advance into The International 6 Upper Bracket Finals and secure a Top 3 placement.
An unbelievable showing of strength from EG – fitting for the International reigning champions – and the North Americans overpowered EHOME, 2:0. Flawless team coordination, good decision making coming out of PPD and Fear, great clutch saves from zai, superb plays by sumaiL, and UniVeRsE’s instrumental Faceless Void sealed the deal for EG.
Dubbed “the most spectacular Dota 2 game of all time”, the first match of the series ended after 70 minutes and featured an electrifying Mega Creep comeback.
It is EG’s third consecutive time reaching Top 3 at The International. The North-Americans will meet Wings in the Upper Bracket Finals – a match-up reminiscent of last year’s EG vs. CDEC.
We have three best-of-three series to look forward to for the fourth day of the TI6 Main Event, on August 11th – all three of them in the Lower Brackets.
Up first at 10:30 PDT (19:30 CEST) is TnC Gaming vs. Digital Chaos, followed by Fnatic vs. Team Liquid, at 13:30 PDT (22:30 CEST). Then, at 16:30 PDT (01:30 CEST), EHOME will go up against either TnC or DC. Three more teams will leave the competition by the end of the day.
Valve’s The International has a long history of setting and breaking esports records – and this year’s event has already proven to be no different.
The total TI6 prize pool has already passed the $20 million mark, thus becoming the largest in esports history. Close to $9 million are set aside for the winning team, so the competition is at an all-time high.

(969 comments)Hands down one of the best games in TI history. Heart racing throne race vs megas. If this happened at the grandfinals it would have been insane. Those decision plays. Killing the jugg in the end. Kreygasm!
