Secret have announced their roster for the upcoming 2016 Fall Major.
The new lineup includes three SEA players – former MVP.Phoenix members MP and Forev, and ex-Fnatic player MidOne – as well as two European players and members of the team’s previous roster, Puppey and pieliedie.
The International 2016 has passed and it has been one hell of a ride for us and our fans. Now it’s time to rebuild and continue on our journey. As such, we are happy to announce new additions to our family. Pyo ‘MP’ No-a, Yeik ‘MidOne’ Nai Zheng and Lee ‘Forev’ Sang-don will be joining our team as Artour ‘Arteezy’ Babaev, Jacky ‘EternalEnVy’ Mao and Sam ‘Bulba’ Sosale will be departing from the Team Secret Dota 2 roster. We will also be parting our ways with our long term coach Theeban ‘1437’ Siva and Kurtis ‘Aui_2000’ Ling who came on board to help us with TI6 as an additional coach. We welcome our new members and wish all the best to our former players and coaches who have been instrumental in our success so far.

Every single move Team Secret made over the past year has been carefully scrutinized and chronicled time and time again: their unorthodox ways of plucking other teams’ brightest players when least expected, their seemingly inflated egos, their rises, their falls, and their rises again.
After initiating the post Shanghai Major roster shuffle that tore apart Evil Geniuses and created Digital Chaos, Team Secret had sub-par performances and disappointing results.
They set off yet another unexpected shuffle, right in the middle of the Manila Major, when Secret’s Team Director, Kemal Sadikoglu, took to Twitter to announce Saahil “UNiVeRsE” Arora’s departure to EG.

Team Secret sought out a replacement: former EG player Kanishka ‘Sam’ “BuLba” Sosale. In a timeless loop of exchanges, Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling registered as Team Secret’s substitute, having been let go from EG after being replaced with Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg.
As the Shanghai Major champions, they would have been directly invited to The International 6, had they not made roster changes outside the transfer window. They were forced to take the long, sinuous road to TI6, through the Open Qualifiers, and ended up being the first team to qualify for the Main Event out of the European region.
Stacked with individual talent, Team Secret’s lineup never really fell into place during The International 6. Arteezy was rather inconsistent, BuLba was underwhelming and struggling to adapt, pieliedie, EternaLEnVy and Puppey lacked their usual spark. Their agony was best reflected in their disappointing performances during The International 6 Group Stage. They placed in the bottom four teams in their group and got locked into the Main Event’s best-of-one Lower Brackets, only to be knocked out of contention by LGD, on the very first day. They walked away with $100,000 and a disheartening 13th-16th place.
On August 20, within the first 24 hours of the drop phase – the first step of the team registration process for the upcoming 2016 Fall Major – EternaLEnVy, along with coach 1437 and substitute player Aui_2000 have all made an active decision to remove themselves from Team Secret’s roster. The team’s sub-par performance at TI6 and early elimination in the first round of the Lower Bracket had already fueled rumors of roster changes for Secret.
EternaLEnVy had been with the team since the complete overhaul following TI5, when Secret was rebuilt around Clement “Puppey” Ivanov. 1437 was recruited as the team’s coach in March, just after Secret’s victory at the Shanghai Major. Aui_2000 was taken on as a substitute for the TI6 open qualifiers after the mid-season reshuffle that resulted in the Canadian player being displaced from Evil Geniuses.

Fall Major registration

For the 2016 Fall Major, Valve has implemented a two-step registration process, including a “drop phase” and an “add phase”.
Teams have 17 days at their disposal – until September 4th – to release players from their current rosters for the upcoming season. This is an active process, unlike in previous seasons when the entire team was automatically dropped before the beginning of a new season. Therefore, players must leave the team or the management needs to remove any players that will not continue competing with the team. Any players that are still remaining on the team after September 4th are automatically locked into the team.
New players can then be added to the roster between September 4th-18th. The rosters will become locked on September 18th, at 12:00AM PDT. Players who left or were dropped from a roster in the first phase of the registration can be re-added to the lineup in the second phase, until September 18th.

(969 comments)Never saw that coming. This is the first time I saw that three SEA region players making a transition to the EU scene. An opportunity like this wont come twice so I can understand why midone, MP and forev made this transition. More exposure in the international scene but this was really a surprise. Puppey just doing puppey things.

(5 comments)I’m sad to see MP and Forev moved away from MVP.
But I will keep support them. Hope they will find success with their new team in the next journey.
