Team Malaysia will be adding up their frequent flyer miles in the next upcoming months, as they secured their third LAN event in a month. MY will be representing the SEA region for China’s i-league tournament, taking place in Shanghai, China, featuring a $300,000 prize-pool.

SEA regional qualifiers included Team Malyasia, MVP.Phoenix, Can’t Say Wips, Arcanys, 5Eva, Signature.Trus, Mineski and Invasion. MY had already eliminated Invasion and CSW, 2:0, earlier in the week to secure their place in the finals. Mineski swept MVP.Phoenix in the first round and defeated Signature.Trust, 2:1, to advance into the finals.
Best of three Finals
In the first game, Mineski convincingly defeated MY with a Queen of Pain ban and the infamous Sniper pick.
For game two, Mineski chose a carry Leshrac and an Abaddon support. This was punished by MY’s famous Tiny-Io combo paired with Mirana. The Malaysians destroyed the Filipino’s confidence, as later became obvious in this game and the one to follow.
In the third game, MY grabbed the Sniper pick and allowed Mineski to take the Tiny-Io combo. The Sniper and Undying combo proved to be uncontrollable for Mineski and the deciding game easily went in the favor of MY.
Chinese Qualifiers
The Chinese qualifiers will be split into two stages: an open qualifier and an invitation based qualifier. The open qualifier will divide the teams into two groups. Teams will compete in a single elimination best of one format, until only one team is left standing. The winners of their groups will then be seeded into the second phase, the invitational qualifiers. Again, the teams will be divided into two groups and compete in best of two round robin; top two of each group will represent China in Shanghai. The qualifiers will be starting on April 20.
Team Malaysia
MY won CORSAIR Gaming Event and GEST-SEA-CUP since parting ways with E-Home.cn, on March 26, and have recently qualified for Red Bull Battle Grounds and StarLadder StarSeries Season XII. They will face Mineski again, for the chance to attend the ESL One Frankfurt play-offs, in Germany.
