One day prior to the start of the Frankfurt Dota Major Regional Qualifiers, Team Liquid has picked up the successful European team 5Jungz. The team has been directly invited to participate in the Regional Qualifiers.
The team will debut under the Team Liquid banner tonight against Virtus.Pro for the Summit 4 qualifiers. Tomorrow, they will participate in the Frankfurt Dota Major Regional Qualifiers. On top of that, the squad is already qualified for the Nanyang Dota 2 Championships set to take place in Singapore, starting with October 26th, for a base prize-pool of $200,000.
It feels great to be back! Just over a year ago, we said goodbye to the last Dota team to play under the Liquid banner. Today, I can finally say that we’re back and stronger than ever. We have signed the team formerly known as $5Jungz$: KuroKy, FATA-, Matumbaman, JerAx, and MinD_ContRoL.(…) I’d like to thank all of our fans for waiting so patiently. Dota is a game that’s close to my heart, and some of my best esports memories are thanks to our Dota teams. We’ve worked hard to sign a Dota team over the past year, and there were several opportunities this year where we were close. Unfortunately, those things don’t always work out the way you want, and it was extremely disappointing each time we ended up having to keep you guys waiting longer. I’m thrilled to be working with this new Liquid team and can’t wait to see what the future brings.

Team Liquid is a professional organization, founded in the Netherlands in 2000. They expanded to Dota 2 in 2012 when they picked up Brian “FLUFFNSTUFF” Lee’s team Fire and have not had a Dota 2 team since 2014. The organization has divisions in Brood War, StarCraft II, Hearthstone, Dota 2, Super Smash Brothers: Melee, and Heroes of the Storm.
In the post-TI5 shuffle, a new team has appeared on the horizon demanding attention.
5Jungz walked away with their first victory only two weeks after formation, when they defeated Golden Boys, 2:0, in the Alienware Summer’s End Cup Grand Finals, leaving viewers with a positive impression for the future of the squad.
Since then, 5Jungz has qualified for the Nanyang Championship, after taking down Vega Squadron, 3:2, in the European qualifiers’ finals, taking the one regional spot allocated.
Team Liquid 5Jungz roster:
Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi
