Shanghai Major China Qualifiers results for day 1 are in. LGD and IG.Vitality are tied for the top of their group with both Fantuan and TongFu struggling to maintain their places. In the second group CDEC.A has taken the lead position with Newbee.Y sitting at the bottom with no wins. The second day of the Round Robin group stage will pick up again on January 8th, at 03:00 CET.
Shanghai Major China Qualifiers results are in after a long and eventful day has concluded for the day 1 group stage.
Surprisingly CDEC.A, the newest youth group of the CDEC organization, has taken the top position in their group, demonstrating skill in drafting and playing. The team is looking promising with Wings Gaming looking equally as good.
Not so surprising is to see LGD taking the lead in their group. The team was expected to do well and their participation in the event had surprised some who thought they should have been directly invited. IG.Vitality is on their heels though, tied for the top spot and showing how strong he new and younger teams can be.
Newbee’s club is having a difficult day with their main squad sitting second to last with just one win and their youth squad in last place with no wins.
The matches resume on January 8th, at 03:00 CET, and are expected to be intense as the teams continue their quest towards the second stage of the qualifiers – the double elimination brackets.

Shanghai Major China Qualifiers results day 1 Group A
LGD had a great start to their day and the event sweeping through both TongFu and Invictus Gaming 2:0.
IG.Vitality has surprised fans everywhere as they have remained on par with veteran team LGD. The new team is vying for the top spot with a clean and perfect end to their day, refusing to drop a single match. THey were able to take down Fantuan and TongFu 2:0 each.
IG took their only win against Fantuan in a 2:0 sweep.
TongFu and Fantuan had only one win each from their series that ended in a draw. The matches were the only ones for the day that either team was able to secure, leaving them both tied at the bottom of their group.
Shanghai Major China Qualifier day 1 Group B
CDEC.A managed to position themselves at the top of their group with their sweep over Wings Gaming 2:0 and their draw series against CDEC.Y.
Wings took their game against Newbee.Y 2:0 to fall into the place just below CDEC.A
Newbee was able to at least get on the board with one win as they ended in a draw in their series against CDEC.Y. Depsite having a star ridden roster and recently adding Chuan to the lineup, the team is continuing to struggle to attain results.
Shanghai Major China Qualifiers format
- The ten teams have been divided into two Round Robin groups of five.
- Top two teams will advance to a double elimination bracket.
- First place team will start in the Upper Brackets.
- Runner-up team will start in the Lower Brackets.
- The first and second place teams from the Shanghai Major China Qualifiers will advance to the main event in Shanghai, China.

The Shanghai Major China Qualifiers series will begin at 03:00 CET, on Thursday, January 7th, and end on January 10th.
