Not Today, Infamous, Midas Club Elite and SG e-sports are headed to the SA Kiev Major regional qualifier playoffs.
SA had the least amount of teams to be invited directly into the Kiev Major SA regional qualifiers. Only two teams – Midas Club Elite and SG e-sports had met the criteria of stability and had any results to warrant the nod from Valve. The other remaining eight spots were filled with teams that had fought their way through the brutal open qualifiers.
Not Today dropped only one match in the group stage – to the second place team SG e-sports. The Peruvian team seems to be on fire – as they had a flawless performance, cruising through the open qualifiers.
As a reward for their efforts, Not Today were allowed to choose their opponents moving forward. They went for fourth place team – Midas Club Elite who ended fourth with a 6:3 record.
Sacola de Lixo1 disbanded due to internal conflicts at the start and were removed from the event.
Wheel Whreck had a difficult run, unable to pick up a single victory ending with a 0:9 record and destroyed hopes for an appearance at the Kiev Major.
The Kiev Major qualifiers will be covered by Beyond the Summit: stream #1, stream #2, stream #3, stream #4 and MoonduckTV stream #1 and stream #2.

Kiev Major Qualifiers format
The Kiev Major Qualifiers format is the same as it was for the Boston Major – which had been adjusted compared to previous Majors. This season, teams will be pitted against each other in a single group, instead of divided into two groups. Another significant change, teams will face each other in a best-of-one round robin. The top four teams in the group stage will advance to a best-of-three GSL-style playoffs bracket. Two teams from China and SEA, one team from NA, EU, SA and CIS will qualify for the Kiev Major. Thus, there will be two phases to the Kiev Major Qualifiers format: group stage and playoffs.
Kiev Major Qualifiers playoffs
- 1st place team chooses 3rd or 4th place team as an opponent
- 2nd place team competes against remaining team
- GSL bracket format
- Best-of-three series
- Two teams qualify for the Kiev Major
