ROOT Gaming has defeated TI5 Wildcard contenders, Archon, to secure their place in the BTS Americas grand finals versus Summer’s Rift. The best-of-five series will take place tonight, at 23:00 CEST.

In an interesting turn of events, both the TI5 Americas qualifier winner compLexity and the Wildcard contender Archon have been knocked out of the BTS Americas event in the semifinals.
Brian “FLUFFNSTUFF” Lee’s team, ROOT Gaming, bested Archon, 2:0, in the semifinals last night, after previously sweeping through e-Hug, 2:0, and defeating unknown.xiu, 2:1. ROOT Gaming has advanced to the grand finals, where they will face Jimmy “Demon” Ho’s team, Summer’s Rift.
Summer’s Rift swept through both Isurus and WaytoStack before besting compLexity, 2:1, in the semifinals.

Fourteen top teams from the Americas were directly invited: compLexity (TI5 Americas Qualifiers winners), North American Rejects (which claimed the TI5 Americas Qualifiers Wild Card slot), Boreal, eHuG, Not Today, Leviathan, Unknown.xiu, Summer’s Rift, Isurus, VoidBoys, Union Gaming, Root Gaming, wayto stack (featuring well-known player Waytosexy), and EgamersX. Teams Rebelde and Snakes qualified through the Open Qualifiers.
