Red Bull Heroicks, a new tournament to be hosted by Red Bull this year in September has been postponed. According to organizers, securing two more top teams has proved troublesome and new dates and arrangements are being made. Tickets will be refunded and more information will be forthcoming for future event.
The Red Bull Heroicks tournament hosted by Red Bull in Castle Rastatt in Germany September 17th-18th has been postponed for the time being.
Originally announced in June, OG, Virtus.Pro and Alliance had confirmed their participation with one more team to be announced.
Regrettably, it has become apparent that despite intensive efforts, we will not manage to get the confirmation of four top Dota2 pro teams for Red Bull Heroicks on the 17th and 18th of September, 2016. Two of the wold’s best teams have already agreed to participate, “OG” and “The Alliance”, and Our goal was to complete the line-up with two more top teams. Hence, the quality required by the event concept is not provided. For this reason, we decided to postpone the event. We are already working on an alternate date for the event and will announce the new date as soon as possible. We already informed all ticket buyers and will refund all tickets already purchased.
Red Bull Heroicks
Four top international teams and one qualified German team were to compete at the 300-year-old Castle Rastatt in Germany, in front of 5,000 fans.
The event was to feature a new tournament mode, similar to last year’s Red Bull Battle Grounds. Each of the five participating teams start with three lives. When a team has lost all three lives, they’re eliminated from the tournament.
To make things even more interesting, the format had a twist this year. The winner of the match chooses the next two teams to compete and the new Hero Challenge allows the audience to select two heroes that can not be banned each game.
