Prodota Gaming have sought out a new angle in obtaining the competitive edge. The European-based organization has approached the new and upcoming season with a comprehensive solution, teaming up with former NFL San Francisco 49ers strength and conditioning assistant coach. In addition, the team has also recruited the help of an analyst to provide an initial consultation to enhance coordination and strategic planning. Undergoing another roster change recently, the squad has been thrust into the depths of the brutal Kiev Major Open Qualifiers starting on Monday, March 6th.
With the Dota 2 and esports scene continuous growth, players and teams are always seeking out ways to gain the competitive edge.
For Prodota Gaming, that has taken the form of wrap-around services for the players – a holistic and comprehensive approach to training and development.
Since the finalization of their latest roster, the team has stepped up their game and focus. Micke “miCKe” Nguyen’s long history and well established synergy with ex-HoN peer and former Dota 2 teammate Aydin “iNsania” Sarkohi has added an extra piece of closure on tightening up team dynamics.
The organization also welcomed back Alexandru “ComeWithMe” Crăciunescu – previously a member of the team last season, alongside captain and carry player Ylli “garter” Ramadani. Garter had also played with the Romanian a few years ago, while standing in for one of the early iterations of Kaipi.
To take the next step forward in reaching their goals, Prodota Gaming has teamed up with former NFL team San Francisco 49ers strength and conditioning assistant coach, Taylor “Architect” Johnson.
Architect has focused on nutrition, strength and conditioning, and recovery for the past 10 years. His overall goal is to help individuals reach their true potential and ideal lifestyles.
Experience as a S&C (strength and conditioning) and Nutrition Coach has reached all levels ranging from NFL, MLB, Pac-12, SEC, and Mountain West collegiate teams, professional fighters, law enforcement/military, fire fighters, weekend warriors, CEO’s, and casual fitness enthusiasts.
He most recently was an Assistant S&C and Nutrition Coach for the San Francisco 49ers for two seasons and is now using his skill set to help professional gamers optimize their training.
I am really excited to be a part of Prodota Gaming, bringing my passion and expertise in traditional sports and health to esports. I’ve seen that tweaking the smallest and often overlooked things can have a significant impact in results and performance. I can’t wait to see what the future will hold.
– Taylor “Architect” Johnson
To compliment the skills and expertise he brings to the table in nutrition, strength and conditioning, the team has also recruited assistance from a well known analyst on an initial consultation basis for the first week only. The analyst will provide insight and coordination with Taylor to develop a blueprint and goals based on extensive review and observation of the team’s Dota specific strengths and weakness.
Wrapping the players up tightly in all areas that could impact performance, the organization is hopeful to see some dramatic improvements over the course of the next season.
This is an exciting time for me personally, professionally, as an individual, teammate and captain. I am looking forward to seeing what changes will come about in game play and our future!
– Ylli “Garter” Ramadani
While there is not any expectation that the team will have dramatic improvements in time for the Kiev Major open qualifiers that start on Monday, March 6th, their sights are set on The International 2017 scheduled to take place in August 2017.
compLexity Gaming was the first esports organization to to train at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida – a world renowned training haven and school for traditional sports that has hosted and trained notable athletes. Although the Dota 2 squad did not participate in the bootcamp training at the facility, they did enlist the help of a life coach in preparation of TI5.
The organization has recently branched off of their original CIS project and switched gears into being a European extension. Since transitioning into a full European team, Prodota have been climbing their way back to success.
At the end of June, just in time for The International 6 Open Qualifiers, Prodota Gaming underwent a full overhaul of their roster to be centered around carry player Ylli “Garter” Ramadani. They recruited Linus “Kefka” Bleckert and Malthe “Biver” Winther, at the end of July. Two weeks later, Alexandru “ComeWithMe” Crăciunescu and Jure “Pingvincek” Plešej stepped in for the squad.
After much uncertainty surrounding the Fall Major season, the Prodota roster was secured and locked. When Armand “bOne7” Pittner missed the drop deadline by mere hours, ComeWithMe became mistakenly locked into Kaipi, instead of Prodota Gaming. Valve took action and settled team registration issues.
The team shocked the scene and set a new trend when they didn’t compete for the Boston Major European open qualifiers, but instead participated in the open qualifiers for the Americas. In the first of the two qualifiers they seized a place in the Boston Major Americas regional qualifiers – ultimately failing to advance to the main event.
In the last few months, the team has had solid performances, winning championship titles (PD Cup EU #3, #8, #9, #10, and Dota 2 Stars Arena), placing second in PD Cup #4, Game On Invitational #2, joinDOTA League Season 10, Elements Cup #2 and Dota 2 Offense, and third in WellPLay Invitational #4, Dota 2 Champions League Season 8, Treasure Arena #1, and AOC Dota 2 Cup.
In November, the team merged with the remnants of Kaipi, including Armand “bOne7” Pittner and Neta “TheCoon/33” Shapira, and traveled to China to take fourth place at WCA 2016.
For the new season, they rebuilt the team around Carry player/captain Garter, taking on four new players.
After diligently looking and trying out players, we are excited about our new lineup. Joining our captain and carry player Ylli “Garter” Ramadani we welcome back to the ranks two familiar faces – Ivaylo “Mastermind” Petkov and Riku “Buugi” Fält (…) New to the team we welcome both Eugene “chshrct” Kastrama and Aydin “iNsania” Sarkohi.
The team did not achieve the results they were aiming for. In an effort to remedy that and despite being thrust into the open qualifiers due to post roster lock changes, the team welcomed back ComeWithMe and added Micke “miCKe” Nguyen to the roster only two weeks ago.
