Less than a month since former Cloud 9 player Armand “bOne7” Pittner announced that he would breath new life into the Kaipi brand with a mix comprised of Asuna, Bufni, Beesa, and Kikoni, the team is buffeted by winds of change.
UPDATE (17:00 CEST) – The D2CL series between Kaipi and CIS Rejects has been postponed until tomorrow, September 25th, at 19:00 CEST.
Alexandru “Comewithme” Crăciunescu was brought on after Kiril “Kikoni” Minkov left the team and registered as a KomandaMinus player for the upcoming Major, on September 4th. Antonio “canceL^^” Mihai (currently ranked 4th on the European leaderboards, with a 7.5K MMR) will fill the mid role, while Comewithme will replace Salvador “Asuna” Khamis, as a support.
Comewithme told DotaBlast that the changes were required, in order to open the way for a better team synergy:
Kikoni had attitude issues, he kept losing his temper easily. Patience is an important virtue, when you’re part of a new team. Asuna lacked experience. That would have been fine, if he had had a good synergy with our other support, Bufni. We kept losing practice games in under 10 minutes, it was obvious we had to make a change. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Now, with canceL^^, things seem to be moving in the right direction. We’re confident.
Kaipi will go up against CIS Rejects tonight*, at 17:00 CEST, in the D2CL Season 6 tournament. This will be Kaipi’s first official series. Comewithme says the team does not expect to start winning tournaments from the very beginning:
The D2CL series between Kaipi and CIS Rejects has been postponed until tomorrow, September 25th, at 19:00 CEST.
For now, we’re not necessarily aiming at winning tournaments, but rather making sure we have a good team structure and understanding of the game. We hope we’ll be a top team in the future and we’re already working hard to get there.
