Newbee swept through Fnatic in a convincing 2:0 sweep with Chen “Hao” Zhihao continuing to be the center of attention in his outstanding plays and incredibly efficient farming. The Chinese team has dropped only one game -to Digital Chaos in the upper brackets thus far in the tournaments. They continue to run over their opponents and be a force to be reckoned with.
OG will face Newbee in the upper bracket finals.
The Manila Major results: Upper Brackets
Four of the eight teams in the Upper Brackets have competed in the third day of the Manila Major. OG, MVP.Phoenix, Newbee and Fnatic went head to head in the efforts to be the first teams to advance further into the Upper Brackets and secure a top 3 finish at the third Dota 2 Major.
OG vs. MVP.Phoenix
First game OG drafted a Morphling pick, something seen once today earlier by ViCi Gaming.Reborn, which didn’t work as well as they had hoped. OG drew first blood but was quickly answered by MVP.Phoenix. The European team continued to set the tempo and control the game for the duration of the match. Amer “Miracle-“ al-Barqawi impressed all as usual, with his flawless game on Morphling 8:0:6.
.@OGDota2's five-man is just too scary as they already take a rax at 25 minutes! #ManilaMajor pic.twitter.com/9lCZICGoWr

The second game saw OG seize first blood once again. By 10 minutes in OG were diving into MVP.Phoenix’s base and were on a killing spree with a 10:0 lead at minute 13. The European team completely shellacked the Korean’s lineup. They closed out the game with a a 24:0 shutout. A completely powerful and perfectly flawless game for the Europeans to sweep through the Koreans 2:0.
0-24!
Yeah… that just happened! @OGDota2 #ManilaMajor pic.twitter.com/KkKxFYYVSY— ESL Dota2 (@ESLDota2) June 9, 2016
Manila Major results: OG 2:0 MVP.Phoenix. OG advance in the Upper Brackets, while MVP.Phoenix drop to the elimination series in the Lower Brackets.
Newbee vs. Fnatic
The first game of the series Fnatic went with a greedy lineup with no stuns. Not having a way to deal with Newbee’s lineup and a Life Stealer with Anceint – radiance strategy they fell behind quickly despite an even laning phase. After the initial three kills early on, Fnatic failed to find another kill the rest of the game. Damien “kpii” Chok had a perfect game on Life Stealer while Chen “Hao” Zhihao had an incredible game on Weaver.
The second game featured a Lina pick by Newbee, bringing the total heroes played in the event to 94. Fnatic started out taking first blood. Being one of the most efficient farmers, Hao already had incredible farm by minute 10. The game was back and forth for the first 24 minutes with Fnatic taking a considerable lead for the next 15 minutes. One team fight would turn things around for Newbee as they took a 14k gold swing, the lead and the series.
ALL IT TOOK WAS ONE TEAM FIGHT! @NewbeeCN manage to 2-0 @FNATIC who drop down to the lower bracket! #ManilaMajor pic.twitter.com/Awam17vOKy
