i-League Season 3 LAN finals Upper Bracket
ViCi Gaming vs. Invictus Gaming
The second day of the event started with ViCi Gaming and Invictus Gaming playing their first matches of the tournament. The game was delayed due to the last minute necessary qualifier to fill Mousesports’ spot after their short notice withdrawal due to visa issues. Invictus Gaming defeated Newbee.Youth, 2:1, and secured their place in the i-League Season 3 LAN finals.
ViCi Gaming easily grabbed the first game from IG, dominating them the entire time. IG responded with the same treatment in the second game, forcing a deciding third one. IG secured first blood about four minutes into the third game but twere not able to secure the lead long enough and lost 1:2. IG have dropped to the Lower Brackets to face Energy Pacemakers, while ViCi Gaming have advanced in the Upper Brackets to play versus Alliance.
Alliance vs. ViCi Gaming
With ViCi Gaming winning their first round of the tournament, 2:1, versus Invictus Gaming, they advanced to the second round in the Upper Brackets to face Alliance.
The first game started fairly even until early mid game, when ViCi Gaming started to pull ahead with an Undying pick. Alliance was unable to prevent the Chinese team from seizing control from there out and lost in 30 minutes. For the second game, Alliance’s draft seemed unconventional but their strategy never seemed to develop throughout the game. They suffered many setbacks, including having no place to safely farm and back to back team wipes. After an attempt to turn the game, they weren’t able to close the gap and called “GG” in 35 minutes. Alliance have dropped to the Lower Brackets to square off against Team Malaysia, while VG =continue to advance in the Upper Brackets.
i-League Season 3 Lower Brackets
Team Malaysia vs. ViCi Gaming Potential
Team Malaysia and ViCi Gaming Potential started the first game off fairly even until MY was able to start to gain control in the early mid game. Unfortunately, ViCi Gaming’s youth squad were not able to completely turn the tides of the game, despite bringing the action into a more level playing field. The Malaysians were able to regain control and claim the first game in 35 minutes. The second game was heavily one-sided. Team Malaysia easily took the series, 2:0, and eliminated ViCi Gaming Potential.
Energy Pacemakers vs. Invictus Gaming
Last game of the day was the Lower Bracket match between Energy Pacemakers and Invictus Gaming. Energy Pacemakers drew first blood, but it would be their only kill until minute 17. A four-man wipe on EP around minute 14 at the Roshan Pit allowed IG to move ahead to 9:1 and take the Aegis. IG were able to break high ground by 16 minutes into the game. EP called “GG” soon afterwards. EP drew first blood yet again, in less than one minute in the second game. This time, Energy Pacemakers would be able to maintain their control, lead and power in the game, forcing IG to call “GG” in 16 minutes and extend the series into one more game. IG would grab the last game and eliminate EP in 21 minutes, 2:1.
