Frankfurt Dota Major Americas Qualifiers standings: DC and EWolves shine, C9 and coL fall flat

The first day of the Frankfurt Dota Major Americas qualifiers has come to an end. Digital Chaos have not dropped a single match and sit at the top of their group, while EWolves have taken the first spot in their group. The second day of the Round Robin group stage will pick up again today, at 19:00 CEST.

A long and eventful day has concluded in the Frankfurt Dota Major Americas qualifiers group stage.

Cloud 9 were a heavily favored team going into the qualifiers, on the back of their impressive performances leading up to the event. However, it would be the Peruvian team EWolves that would shine in the series, upsetting Cloud 9 and taking the first spot in their group.

Digital Chaos has been showing some impressive drafts and team-play, winning all of their matches to take the first slot in their group.

Both ROOT Gaming and Boreal have not won a single match yet.

The matches resume today at 19:00 CEST and are expected to be intense as the teams continue their journey towards the second stage of the qualifiers, the double elimination brackets.

  • coL 1:1 HCWP – The first game was a long, back and forth battle between the two teams. At minute 50, compLexity were wiped out and HCWP managed to push the lead in their favor. The second game was much more one-sided and ended in only 19 minutes, with compLexity taking the victory easily this time.
  • EWolves 1:1 VB – EWolves destroyed Void Boys in the first game, with a score of 12:1, in only 20 minutes. The second game started a bit more even between the teams, but Void Boys managed to take the lead after the laning phase and push towards the win with ease.
  • C9 1:1 coL –: The first game was an hour-long, intense battle, with lots of back and forth leads and action. In the end, compLexity managed to secure the win. The second game favored Cloud 9, as they drafted heroes such as Ember and Lycan. Unable to manage the split push, compLexity gave the win to C9.
  • HCWP 0:2 EWolves – EWolves managed to outplay HCWP and execute all their strategies very well in both matches. The Peruvians played both games in the series with a high amount of synergy and coordination.
  • VB 0:2 HCWP – Void Boys were able to take the lead early on in the first game, but the action was quickly evened out after the laning phase, and HCWP pushed ahead. Again, in the second game, Void Boys secured the early lead, but an amazing game for Justin “justin” Rosselle on Shadow Fiend for HCWP was enough to give them the power they needed to seize the win.
  • EWolves 2:0 C9 – The first game started fairly even, but then quickly led to Cloud 9’s advantage. After a team fight about 30 minutes into the game, EWolves took the lead for a few moments only to give it back to Cloud 9. After a great team fight, EWolves retook the lead and carried it through to victory. The second game appeared to be very similar, with Cloud 9 having the lead and appearing to be in control. EWolves have been showing great synergy and coordination through the event and managed to pull the game back in their favor for another victory.

  • LVT 2:0 ROOT – The first game lasted over 75 minutes, eventually going the way of Team Leviathan. Leviathan shut down the Medusa, preventing ROOT and their greedy lineup from being able to gain enough and do any damage. In the second game, Leviathan ganked Spectre enough times to prevent the hero from farming up well. The team took the second win of the series, as well.
  • DC 2:0 U.xiu – Unknown started the first game with the advantage, but Digital Chaos were able to execute their strategy and show great coordination. They easily turned the game in their favor and took the first win. The second game was much more even, with both teams fighting well. At the very end of the over 50-minute match, Digital Chaos managed to take the victory.
  • U.xiu 1:1 LVT – Leviathan convincingly dominated the first game, ending it in 31 minutes, with a score of 23:5. The second game was a complete opposite of the first game, with Unknown being the one to stomp their opponents, ending the match in 24 minutes, with a score of 22:9.
  • Boreal 0:2 DC – Digital Chaos outdrafted and overpowered the Canadian team in both games of the series.

    • The ten teams have been divided into two Round Robin groups of five.
    • Top two teams will advance to a double elimination bracket.
    • First place team will start in the Upper Bracket.
    • Runner-up team will start in the Lower Bracket.

    • If a team wins by 2-0, it is awarded 3 points.
    • If the match goes 1-1, each team is awarded 1 point.
