Picking up a stable, well-rounded Dota 2 squad – which has already been directly invited to The International, is no doubt easier than putting together a team from scratch. Fnatic return to the scene with a splash and announce Team Malaysia as their new Dota 2 squad.
Fnatic’s Chief Operating Officer, Patrik “cArn” Sättermon:
We are delighted to welcome Mushi and co. to Fnatic and continue Fnatic’s legacy in Dota. Throughout the years we’ve had presence in this amazing game and great support from the community. For six months we have been searching for a team fit enough to wear our name and play under the black and orange colors. In this team, we find a great group of people to represent our brand and we are very much looking to help them elevate their game to the highest level by supporting them in every way.
Yee Fung Chai “Mushi”, Team Malaysia’s founder and captain, hopes other organizations will follow in Fnatic’s footsteps and invest in the Southeast Asian scene:
I am very excited to be playing under the name Fnatic. Fnatic is a really legendary name in eSports and I am sure we can go to greater heights under their sponsorship. If you don’t remember, in 2010, Fnatic sponsored my good friends in XCN and they were one of the first Western eSports organisation to invest in the South East Asian scene. I am happy that they have set their sights for South East Asia again and hope that many will follow the lead.

Team Malaysia
Team Malaysia was founded in March, when Mushi Chai Yee Fung and Ohaiyo Chong Xin Khoo – who had been playing together on team E-Home.CN, returned home to compete as E-Home’s Malaysian division.
Upon arrival to Malaysia, the team separated from E-Home, on March 26. Since then, Team Malaysia has been dominating the SEA region. The Malaysians have qualified for no less than five LAN events in just five weeks, and they have shown cohesion and synergy in their relatively short period of time together.
MY have been on a winning streak, securing themselves placements in StarLadder 12, Red Bull Battle Grounds 2015, China’s i-League, and having qualified for the MLG Pro League and ESL One Frankfurt. The team grabbed first place in both CORSAIR Gaming Event and GEST-SEA-CUP.
Their efforts did not go unnoticed. They were the only SEA team to receive a TI5 direct invite and are looking very strong and confident leading up to The International 5.
