The ESL One Frankfurt 2016 hosts have been revealed, just over two weeks before the event is scheduled to start. Beloved and well known host, Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner will return to the Frankfurt for hosting duties. Joining him will be the ESL One Manila stage host Eri “eri” Neeman who quickly became a fan favorite in Manila. ESL One Frankfurt will take place June 18-19th at Commerzbank-Arena in Frankfurt, Germany. Eight teams – Na’Vi Alliance, OG, Team Liquid, Fnatic, compLexity Gaming, Vega Squadron and LGD Gaming – will compete for the $250,000 base prize-pool.

ESL One Frankfurt 2016 hosts will feature the professional and lovable Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner joined by a new fan favorite stage host – Eri “eri” Neeman – who earned the hearts of fans during ESL One Manila.

The ESL One Frankfurt 2016 hosts will join twelve well-known casters, analysts, observers and stats staff who will travel to Frankfurt to cover both the group stages and the main event.

ReDeYe’s Dota 2 portfolio includes premier events such as The International 5 and The Frankfurt Major.
Eri was introduced to the international Dota 2 scene during his work at ESL One Manila and is an actor on a local comedy tv show.

- ESL One Frankfurt 2016 group stage will be played in a classic GSL format.
- The 8 participating teams will be split up into two groups.
In each group, the teams will play best-of-three matches, as shown below:
Match #1: Team A vs. Team B
Match #2: Team C vs. Team D
Winners’ match (WM): Winner of Match #1 vs. winner of Match #2 – winner advances to the Upper Bracket
Losers’ match (EM): Loser of Match #1 vs. loser of Match #2 – loser drops to the Lower Bracket
Decider match: Loser of WM vs. winner of EM – winner advances to the Upper Bracket and loser drops to Lower Bracket - The group stage will determine the seeding for the main event.
- Four teams will be seeded into the main event Upper Brackets, while the remaining four will start the main event in the Lower Brackets.
- No teams will be eliminated in the group stage.
ESL One Frankfurt 2016 format: Main event
- Eight teams will play a double-elimination bracket.
- Four teams (top two teams of each of the groups) will start the main event in the Upper Bracket.
- Four teams (bottom two teams of each of the groups) will start the main event in the Lower Bracket.
- All the Upper Bracket match-ups will be best-of-three series.
- The first round of the Lower Bracket matches will be best-of-one elimination series. The following rounds will be best-of-three elimination series.
- The Grand Finals will be best-of-five series, with no winners’ advantage.

(868 comments)TBH I din’t like Eri that much at Frankfurt. He sort of had some fake hype going on, and the German audience didn’t seem to like it very much either. Maybe they were just too drunk, who knows ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
