DreamHack Moscow day 2 recap
The first series began with the Lower Bracke best-of-three finals between Vega and 4CL. 4CL were able to make a clean sweep through the CIS team 2:0. The first game, the Europeans seemed to be executing their strategy perfectly, with each member of the team playing well enough to allow Vega to gain only 2 kills during the match. The game lasted 14 minutes. The second game was much more balanced and gave way to some more competitive Dota. After 48 minutes of back and forth swings, it would be Per Anders Olsson “Pajkatt” Lille on Anti-Mage to lead the networth charts and his team to victory.
Vega’s loss resulted in their elimination from the event, walking away with $35,000 award.
The best-of-five Grand Finals were next up on the agenda. Team Empire was eagerly awaiting 4CL in the Grand Finals. 4CL managed to easily take the first game from Team Empire, with Pajkatt’s Shadow Fiend becoming troublesome for opponents.
The second game, the CIS team banned the immediately and easily took the second game. Although the Swedish player was able to grab his fearsome hero for the third game, it was Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok and Alexander “XBOCT” Dashkevich that proved to be troublesome and grabbed the third victory.
The fourth game would turn out to be the final game as Team Empire were able to cinch the victory, seizing the championship title after defeating 4CL 3:1. A perfect game by XBOCT and incredible run by Resolut1on would give Team Empire their first championship title since D2CL season 5 in May.
