Evil Geniuses swept Virtus.Pro, 3:0, in the Upper Bracket finals of the Dota Pit League Season 3, and secured their placement in the tournament’s Grand Finals.
Dota Pit League Season 3 resumed on June 12th after a long hiatus due to various scheduling conflicts during the busy LAN tournament season and the TI5 qualifiers. The tournament series started back in January.
Evil Geniuses triumphed over their final obstacle to reach the Grand Finals. Sweeping through CIS TI5 contenders, Virtus.Pro, Evil Geniuses took the best-of-five series and eliminated VP from the event.

Dota Pit League Season 3 Grand Finals
The Grand Finals details are yet to be determined and will be based on the results of the Lower Bracket finals between Cloud 9 and Ninjas in Pyjamas. The date and time for the Lower Bracket finals have not yet been announced.
Ninjas in Pyjamas advanced to the Lower Brackets finals when Team Secret announced they were withdrawing from the event to focus on training for TI5. The two teams were set to face each other in third round of the Lower Brackets.
As of earlier today Team Secret has unfortunately had to withdraw from the ongoing Dota Pit Season 3 in order to focus on The International.

Dota Pit League Season 3 format
Group stage
- Two groups of six teams each in a Round-Robin format of two-game series.
- Top two teams in each group were placed in the Upper Brackets.
- Third place team was placed in the Lower Bracket Round 2.
- Fourth and fifth place were placed in the first round of the Lower Brackets.
- Sixth place team was eliminated.
Playoffs
- Double Elimination brackets, seeding dependent on group standing.
- All series are best-of-three, semifinals and finals are best-of-five series.
Dota Pit League Season 3 Prize pool
The base prize pool of the Dota Pit Season 3 tournament was $80,000. In addition, 25% of every purchase of the compendium and 10% of every purchase of the chest or set goes to the prize pool. $3,000 will be awarded to the player named as MVP. Thus far, the prize pool has reached $265,378.

Last season’s base prize pool was $75,000. In addition, 25% of every purchase of the in-game bundle went to the prize pool, increasing the total to $80,598 as of November 24.
