Fnatic have parted ways with three of their players, after the team’s disappointing track record this season and failure to qualify for the Boston Major.
According to Fnatic’s announcement, Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho, Nico “eyyou” Barcelon and Marc Polo “Raven” Luis Fausto will be stepping down from the team.
Unfortunately, the Dota 2 squad has struggled to perform in the aftermath of TI6; with such a weighty reshuffle after the Major, teething problems were to be expected, but as progress has stuttered it is clear that a new direction is needed. (…) On this occasion, things have not materialized as we’d hoped, but we’re confident that by making these further changes, we’ll be making a marked improvement to consistency, in turn making us more competitive on the big stage.
– Fnatic’s announcement
Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung and Chong Xin “Ohaiyo” Khoo will remain with the team. Replacements have yet to be appointed. According to the organization, a new roster will be announced by the end of the year.
The change within the team was inevitable with all of our results. Plans did not work out as they were intended and it’s time to start a new chapter. Thank you Fnatic for giving me the opportunity, but now I’ll be open as a free agent and looking for a new team. With that being said, I’m now moving back to the USA.

Fnatic’s 2016 Fall Season
Fnatic came in a commendable 4th place at The International 6 and walked away with close to 1.5 million dollars. After their post-TI6 roster changes, they struggled to find even minor success moving forward.
On September 7th, they completed their roster for the Fall Season by welcoming Jimmy “DeMoN” Ho, Nico “eyyou” Barcelon and Marc Polo “Raven” Luis Fausto. The three known players teamed up with core members Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung and Chong Xin “Ohaiyo” Khoo – both of whom have been on the team since June 2015.
Throughout the season, the team seemed to be struggling, placing 4th in the MPGL Southeast Asian Championship, 5th-8th in the Asian ROG Masters tournament, and 5th-6th in the SEA Kappa Invitational Season 3. The final straw – Fnatic failed to qualify for the Boston Major, after placing 4th in the regional qualifiers.
On November 3rd, the Southeast Asian team withdrew from Dota Pit Season 5 admid rumors and leaks of impeding roster changes.
