Cloud 9 have qualified for the Nanyang Championship, after taking down Digital Chaos, 3:0, in the Americas qualifiers’ finals. The newly reformed squad has thus taken the one regional spot allocated for the $200,000 tournament and will be joining six invited teams and three other qualified ones at the main event scheduled to take place in Singapore, between October 26th and November 1st.
Eight invited teams – Digital Chaos, Cloud 9, ROOT Gaming, Fire, Sector V, Void Boys, Union Gaming and Pain Gaming – have competed in the Nanyang Championship Americas qualifiers, the first of the four regional qualifiers to be held in order to fill the remaining four spots for the main event.
Cloud 9 have emerged victorious and will join the six invited teams – Fnatic, Virtus.Pro, Team Secret, ViCi Gaming, LGD Gaming, and CDEC – at the Suntec Convention and Event Centre, in Singapore, at the end of next month.
After their previous Dota 2 squad disbanded on August 14th, Cloud 9 have decided to pick up the North-American team “Dark Horse”, just in time to meet the registration deadline for the first Dota 2 Major.
The announcement about the Cloud 9 new roster was made by the team’s captain, Theeban “1437” Siva.
