Team Secret has been named the second international team to receive an invitation for the MarsTV Dota 2 League in Shanghai, June 3-7. Team Secret will join Cloud 9 and two other teams yet to be revealed to travel to China and compete against each other and four Chinese teams for the main event.

MarsTV Dota 2 League international participation
Cloud 9 was the first international team to be invited to the MarsTV Dota 2 League.
Team Secret has just won two LAN tournaments back to back, defeating Invictus Gaming, 3:2, at Red Bull Battle Grounds, on May 10, and then Evil Geniuses, 3:1, at The Summit 3, on May 17.
Both Cloud 9 and Team Secret have received direct invites to The International 5, proving they are two of the best teams from the western region.
Four international spots have been allocated for the finals, with two more invited teams to be announced soon.
MarsTV Dota 2 League Chinese teams
MarsTV Dota 2 League was schedule to start on May 7, with eight Chinese teams – Newbee (Defending Champions), LGD Gaming, CDEC, E-HOME, HyperGloryTeam, Invictus Gaming, TongFu, and Vici Gaming, competing to be the four teams to advance to the main event.
However, due to scheduling conflicts, Invictus Gaming and Vici Gaming will not be able to compete in the league’s qualifiers, thus have been directly invited to the MarsTV Dota 2 League main event. They have been replaced by Immortal Magneto and DK in the Chinese qualifiers.
Thus far, LGD and E-Home have secured the first two spots with Newbee and CDEC just finishing a tie-breaker, whereas CDEC Gaming finished third, after a 2-1 victory over Newbee.
MarsTV Dota 2 League
MarsTV announced the upcoming 2015 season of the MarsTV Dota 2 League, on April 29. The tournament will feature a base prize-pool of 2 million RMB, approximately $322,000. The prize-pool is significantly higher than last year’s 150,000 RMB pot. In 2014, the MarsTV Dota 2 League’s winner was Newbee. The Chinese team went through the playoffs undefeated, 5:0, and bested LGD, 2:0, in the grand finals.
Why you should watch it
MarsTV hosted The International 2014 Chinese Qualifiers and the Dota 2 Asia Championships. MarsTV partnered up with Perfect World to organize The Dota 2 Asia Championships, known to some as “The International of the East”. The tournament was set up to be very similar to The International. The starting prize pool was set at $250,000 USD, but through crowd funding of compendium sales, the prize pool reached $3,057,519. DAC is expected to be one of the four Dota 2 tournaments called “Majors”.
MarsTV is a Chinese media company part of the Shanghai YaoYu Culture Media Co., Ltd. By hosting The International 2014 Chinese Qualifiers and the Dota 2 Asia Championships, MarsTV has become one of the Dota 2 leaders in China.

The MarsTV Dota 2 League in-game ticket is available for $5.99. The bundle includes the Wailing Inferno set for Warlock. 25% of the proceeds of each sale contributes towards the MarsTV Dota 2 League prize pool. As of May 11, the total prize pool has reached $324,742. Chinese, English and Russian broadcasts are available.
