Newbee
Team Newbee erupted onto the Dota 2 scene in 2014, having emerged from nowhere to claim the most sought after glory of being crowned the Champions of The International. The Chinese “Dream Team 2″ shocked the world with their victory and then disappeared from the scene.
After placing 13th at TI5, Chen “Hao” Zhihao returned to the team, while Wang “Rabbit” Zhang and Lin “June” Shiyang departed.
Wong “ChuaN” Hock transferred to Newbee in time for the Shanghai Major.
The team then had an equally lackluster performance for the Frankfurt Major, taking 15th place and forfeited their spot in WCA 2015 as the event was underway.
This was the second time in less than a month that Newbee forfeit their attendance at an event. The first was at Game Show Global eSports Cup on November 27th, at the last minute. Their late withdrawal then also caused a decrease in participating teams for the event, having left no time for organizers to secure a replacement.
For the Spring season Meng “Xiao2lei” Lei and Zhang “le” Xuanhao moved to Newbee.Young, and Damien “kphoenii” Chok and Hu “Kaka” Liangzhi joined the team. Kaka had last played for EHOME and kphoenii is an Australian player who played for MVP.Phoenix and EHOME.King.
