The Manila Major NA Qualifiers kick off on Tuesday, May 3rd, at 19:00 CEST. The eight invited teams, along with two qualified ones, will compete over the coveted spot at the Dota Major of the spring season.

Ten teams – FDL, Shazamm, Team Freedom, Animal Kingdom, Not Today, Digital Chaos, Enemy, Infamous, EvernovaS and Dragneel – will be competing to represent NA at the Manila Major.
The Manila Major will be held between June 7-12, at the Mall of Asia Arena, in Manila, Philippines, with a set prize-pool of $3,000,000. Sixteen teams will compete in the main event hosted by PGL and Valve.
Team Secret, Team Liquid, Evil Geniuses, MVP.Phoenix, Wings Gaming, ViCi Gaming Reborn, Fnatic, OG, compLexity Gaming, Alliance, Na’vi and LGD Gaming have already been directly invited to the event.
Manila Major NA Qualifiers format
- The ten teams have been divided into two Round Robin groups of five.
- Top two teams will advance to a double elimination bracket.
- Round robin first place teams will face the second place from the other group.
- Grand Final is Best-of-five.
- The first place team from the Manila Major NA Qualifiers will advance to the main event in Manila, Philippines.

Digital Chaos
Digital Chaos was dissolved by default after they lost Theeban “1437” Siva to Team Secret as a coach and then Evil Geniuses officially welcomed back both Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling and Sam “BuLba” Sosale to the organization.
The North American organization then picked up a squad consisting of Omar “w33” Aliwi, Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen, Roman “Resolut1on” Fominok, David “Moo” Hull and Martin “Saksa” Sazdov. The team is attending bootcamp in the United States and competing for the NA region.

EverNovaS
EverNova was originally formed in December 2015 for the Shanghai Major. The North American team competed in various minor online tournaments and qualifiers. Their biggest achievement was a second place in the ProDota Cup Americas 3.
EverNovaS is sponsored by the same organization and includes well known, veteran players, becoming the organizations main squad.

Animal Kingdom
Animal Kingdom, now known as Kingdom, is a new North American team that is comprised primarily of Team Leviathan members – Andrew “Jenkins” Jenkins, Jason “Newsham” Newsham, Matthew “jaH” Penaroza, plus Eric “747” Dong and Luis “Zyzz” Perez. Zyzz played briefly for the team for approximately one month, in December.
Team Leviathan disbanded earlier in March, despite being a constant fixture in the scene since 2014, with a strong presence in regional tournaments and qualifiers. Members of the team were reported to be free agents, looking for new teams.

Infamous
Infamous is a Peruvian Dota 2 team that was formed by the former members of Unknown.xiu. The Peruvian team was the first South-American to ever qualify for an event organized by Valve when they managed to move forward into the Americas qualifiers from the Open Qualifiers and grab one of the two available spots for the Frankfurt Major. The team finished with a 9-12th place.
Since then Jesus “Ztok” Carhuaricra parted ways with the Peruvian team to head North and play for Team Archon. However, due to his involvement in match-fixing, Ztok was deemed ineligible to register for any Manila Major and TI6 rosters and has been banned from participating in any Valve tournaments.

Shazam~ originally formed in time for the Shanghai Major consisting of the entire most recent Cloud 9 roster, minus captain Theeban “1437” Siva, who has joined Digital Chaos. The team dissolved after 1437’s departure and Cloud 9 dismissed Ravindu “Ritsu” Kodippili from the roster and organization. The discharge came as a consequence of recent unprofessional behavior and involvement in unsportsmanlike conduct.
The entire roster has reformed with Mason “mason” Venne replacing 1437.
Since then Mason “mason” Venne and Ravi “Ritsu” Kodippili have parted ways with the team and Tyler “TC” Cook and Jason “Fun” Teodosio joined the ranks.

Team Freedom was formerly known as Team Mischief. They are a North American Dota team sponsored by esports.US, starting with December 21st.
While the lineup itself was put together during the post-TI5 shuffle, two of the original members – Justin “justin” Rosselle and Chris “USH” Usher – have parted ways with the team.

The North American team Stratos eSports was formed in the post TI5 shuffle. It was then acquired by Astral Authority only few months later. According to Enemy eSports press release, the players were not under contract and were free to join the organization.

Not Today
Not Today is a Peruvian team that has had a strong presence in the Americas region. After numerous roster changes and a few organization and sponsor changes, mainstay Freddy “SmAsH Sina, and his squad were picked up the organization in June 2014.
Under the Not Today tag, the team won several minor tournaments and participated in the TI5 Americas qualifiers, placing third in their group.
At the end of August, Juan “VaNn” Tito, Freddy “SmAsH” Sina, Steven “StingeR” Vargas left the team and several more roster chances occurred.
The team still maintains a strong presence in both SA and NA tournaments and qualifiers.
