UCC Europe (Uprise Champions Cup) came to a close after T.RoX defeated ATN 3:1 in the grand finals. The originally scheduled LAN finals were changed to an online final after multiple scheduling conflicts. Four teams had advanced into the playoff phase of the event – T.RoX, ATN, No Logic Gaming and YeS to compete for the $10,000 prize pool.
UCC Europe got started back in November with sixteen teams invited to participate for a $15,000 prize pool including travel expenses and LAN finals taking place in Moscow, Russia.
At the end of January, the expected LAN finals and schedule was changed due to conflicts. Instead, the Dota 2 segment of the tournament was rescheduled to be played entirely online with the playoffs and finals taking place in February.
T.RoX, No Logic Gaming, YeS and Team Alternate were the four teams that had advanced to compete in the double elimination, best-of-three series playoffs for the $10,000 prize pool.
T.RoX had cruised through the upper brackets, besting NLG and then ATN 2:1.
ATN started out defeating YeS 2:1 but fell to the lower brackets when outplayed by T.RoX. They then swept through NLG to advance into the grand finals and reface T.RoX with hopes of redeeming themselves and claiming the victory.
T.RoX was able to once again prove they were the stronger of the two teams by convincingly taking the series 3:1 and claiming the championship title.
