The Shanghai Major SEA Qualifiers results for day 1 are in. Mineski-X and First Departure are sitting at the top of their groups. Taring and Mineski are tied for the second spot in Group A and MVP.Phoenix and Fnatic are tied for second in Group B. Both Extremest Dota 2 and XctN are sitting at last in their groups, each with no wins. The second day of the Round Robin group stage will pick up again on January 8th, at 03:00 CET.
The Shanghai Major SEA Qualifiers results are in after a long and eventful day in the group stage segment of the competition.
Both Mineski-X and XctN were forced to make last minute player replacements in order to continue to compete due to player involvement in previous matchfixing scandals. The results and impact for each team has been drastically different. Mineski-X’s success so far does not seem to be effected at this point, leading their group with 3 points. However, XctN has not been able to pick up a single win during the Shanghai Major SEA qualifier day 1.
Fnatic and Mineski, arch rivals at its finest for Malaysia, both seem to be faring about the same as each other. Both teams are sitting tied for third place in their groups.
Somewhat surprising has been TnC’s struggle, as they had previously shown much promise and domination.
The matches resume on January 8th, at 03:00 CET, and are expected to be intense as the teams continue their quest towards the second stage of the qualifiers – the double elimination brackets.

First Departure took out both TnC and Extremist Dota 2 in clean 2:0 sweeps. However, the series against Extremist Dota 2 were gained by default wins with the qualified team having some difficulties in their availability.
Mineski swept through Extremist Dota 2 but gave up one game to Taring (SataDuaTiga) for a draw in the series. Taring’s Sven was just too much for the team to handle, going 11:0:14. Taring had the lead and the advantage from the beginning and and Mineski was never able to catch up or recover.
Taring were able to make a clean wipe through TnC 2:0 giving them the same position and points as Mineski. The team was sponsored when the squad took the title at the The Malaysia Cyber Games 2015. The event was an attempt to search for the best team to represent Malaysia as Team Taring and a piece of the RM 200,000 (~$46,000) prize fund.
TnC’s only win of the day was the two games in their series against Extremist Dota 2.

Fnatic started the day off great with a 2:0 victory over Signature.Trust. It was their only match of the day and gave Fnatic the confidence they will need leading into day 2. It appears that Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung has taken the carry role, doing quite well in it. The team is also playing with their substitute player Zheng “Miduan” Yeik Nai who has taken the mid role.
Expected first day for SEA qualifiers. @MineskiXDota2 was beating everyone in scrims before, not even player change is affecting them much..
