Fnatic made a surprising announcement just moments ago, bidding farewell to their German carry player Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier. The news comes rather unexpected as it had been reported recently by Chong “Ohaiyo” Xin Khoo that the Malaysian based team would not be making any roster changes at this time.
While the team had some opportunities to qualify for LAN tournaments and participated in some online events, their performance has been lackluster and the synergy seemed off.
(…)we’ll be making a change to our DOTA 2 team roster. Black^ will be leaving Fnatic and looking for a new playing challenge. We’ve greatly enjoyed watching his monstrous farming into hard carrying as part of our squad, with his Tiny-Io partnership with DJ being great to watch too. Mushi, Ohaiyo, Net and DJ have greatly enjoyed having Black^ as part of the Fnatic DOTA family in KL, and everyone at Fnatic wishes him the best of luck in the future. From today, our coach ADTR will stand-in as our Carry.
Ahmad Syazwan “ADTR” bin Anuar has been coaching and advising the team since joining from Invasion eSports.
Always appearing to look at the bright side, Black^ released a statement illustrating his desire to continue and positive outlook.
My stay at team Fnatic took a sudden turn, meaning I’ll be leaving the team with immediate effect. I wish them all the best and I’m thankful to them for teaching me many valuable things for life. As of for myself, I’m still hungry and on the hunt, now probably more motivated than I’ve been for a very long time. I’m not sure where I’ll end up going but I’ll definitely still be playing. Lastly, a huge thanks and shout-out to the organization Fnatic, they’re one of the best and most reliable organisations I ever had the pleasure to work with.

Although Fnatic’s revamped post-TI5 roster attended ESL One New York where they placed fifth and the Nanyang Championships LAN, where they failed to advance from the group stage into the main event. Fnatic had made another role switch prior to the Frankfurt Major, putting Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung back to the support role. The team has been struggling to find their groove in the LANS. Most of their successful initiations seem to have been contingent on Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier getting good farm.
Fnatic roster:
Chai “Mushi” Yee Fung
Chong “Ohaiyo” Xin Khoo
Djardel “Chrissy” Mampusti
Wai Pern “Net” Lim
