The Game Show Global eSports Cup studio LAN in Vilnius has been plagued with more changes to the lineup just days before the start. IG and Newbee have withdrawn from participation, while TnC Pro Gaming were unable to obtain their visas. There will be no Chinese regional representation at all, dropping the eight team participation down to six. TnC will be replaced by MVP. The Studio LAN portion in Vilnius, Lithuania, is scheduled to take place between November 30 – December 3.

Last minute cancellations for three teams – IG, Newbee and TnC- have forced the Game Show Global eSports Cup to make necessary adjustments in the studio LAN portion of the tournament set to take place November 30 – December 3 in Vilnius, Lithuania.
Newbee and Invictus Gaming have cited reasons including regional instability. It appears that both teams may be facing fines by China’s governing gaming agency ACE, although it is yet to be confirmed.
Tournament organizers have confirmed to DotaBlast that there will not be any replacements for the Chinese teams and that the the number of participating teams has been reduced to six.
It has also been confirmed that TnC will be replaced by MVP.

This is the third time the tournament organizers have been forced to find replacements or adjust the format.
One day after the Global eSports Cup China’s second group stage began, three last minute withdrawals and team replacements occurred. ViCi Gaming, LGD and EHOME had all withdrawn from the event due to various reasons and had been replaced by DUOBAO, Newbee.Y and FTD.A
ViCi Gaming released a statement on weibo citing “FY and Fenrir have both caught the common cold and are unable to undergo intensive training and the other members needs some time to reset. ”
EHOME also released their statement on Weibo, stating that the team is fatigued from traveling.
According to the organizers, Digital Chaos were forced to withdraw from the event due to scheduling conflicts and have been replaced with the South American team TShow.
Fnatic had to pull out as well, due to similar reasons, since the Game Show dates were conflicting with their bootcamp for the Frankfurt Major. Alliance withdrew because of “private matters within the team”.

On November 12th, compLexity swept through EWolves, 3:0, and was the last team to qualify to attend the studio LAN portion for the Game Show Global eSports Cup. Team Empire, Vega Squadron, 4CL, NLG, TnC, IG and Newbee had already qualified for the event scheduled to take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, between November 30 – December 3. TnC has been replaced by MVP, IG and Newbee have withdrawn with no replacements. The top four teams will then continue to the playoffs at DreamHack Winter in Moscow, December 5-6.

Game Show Global eSports Cup format
The Game Show Global eSports Cup was played out in six distinct stages. Open Qualifiers, two Group stages and Regional Qualifiers are held in five regions: North America, Europe, CIS, China and SEA. The last two phases of the event will feature Studio LAN playoffs and the Grand Finals to be held at the DreamHack LAN event in Moscow, Russia.

Six teams from the various regions will compete in the fifth phase of the event series. The Studio LAN playoffs will take place between November 30 – December 3 in Vilnius, Lithuania. Only four teams will reach the Grand Finals of the tournament.
