The WESG Europe Qualifiers continue throughout the rest of the month. Last night the stacked WESG Swedish qualifiers concluded. Both favorites – Horde (featuring s4, Akke, Limmp, Solitude and Pablo) and Team_Team (featuring Loda, EGM, Handsken, jonassomfan and mlCKe) have secured a spot in Kiev. Horde overpowered T_T 2:1 in the grand finals for the top seed.
The Russian and Northern European & CIS Qualifier qualifiers continue today, September 11th, while Germany’s qualifiers are scheduled to start tomorrow, on September 12th. One team from Northern European & CIS and two teams from Russia will advance to the offline regional qualifiers in Kiev, Ukraine, in October.
Horde – featuring s4, Akke, Limmp, Solitude and Pablo- seized one of the spots in the offline finals in Kiev, Ukraine for Sweden. They cruised through the brackets without a single loss until the Grand Finals – where they then bested ex-Alliance teammates Loda and EGM 2:1 to take the top seed.
Team_Team – Loda, EGM, Handsken, jonassomfan and mlCKe – will also be present in Kiev to represent Sweden.
The Russian and Northern European & CIS Qualifier qualifiers continue today with teams from Russia, Finland, Lithuania, Belarus, Estonia, and Latvia.
Germany will begin tomorrow night.
Nine more regions are scheduled throughout the rest of the month. A total of 20 teams will fly to Kiev, Ukraine, for the offline European and CIS qualifiers scheduled for October 6th-9th.
Back in March, Alisports announced a new tournament – WESG (World Electronic Sports Games). The event was reported to feature various disciplines, including Dota 2 and CS:GO, with $1.5 million prize pools each – boasting a $5.5 million total prize fund across all the gaming divisions featured. The LAN Finals are set to take place in Shanghai, China, in December.
