The WESG Europe Qualifiers continue throughout the rest of the month. Last night the stacked WESG Russian qualifiers concluded. Both teams ran through stacks of talented and famous players in order secure a spot in Kiev. Comanche upset Fantastic Five 2:0 in the grand finals for the top seed.
The German and the UK, Britain and Icelander qualifiers continue today, September 13th, while the Denmark qualifiers will just be kicking off. One team from Great Britain or Ireland and two teams from Germany will advance to the offline regional qualifiers in Kiev, Ukraine, in October.
Comanche – a team formed mostly by players who were previously from Enso prior to TI6 knocked out F.R.I.E.N.D.S (yoky, undershock, afterlife, Miposhka and noFear), defeated Flipsid3 Tactics 2:1 and then wiped through Fantastic Five 2:0 to take the first seed in the qualifiers.
Fantastic Five – ( featuring Illidan, Bzz, rmN, yol and L0lik_O) seized one of the spots in the offline finals in Kiev, Ukraine for Russia. They defeated stacks of known players including Team Russia (Scandal, Ax.Mo, ArsZeeqq and sQreen) then bested For Mother Russia (G, Ramzes, 9pashaebashu, Solo and KingR) 2:1 for their spot.
The UK, Britain and Icelander qualifiers continue today, along side the German qualifiers.
Denmark will begin tonight night.
Twelve more teams will advance throughout the rest of the month. A total of 20 teams will fly to Kiev, Ukraine, for the offline European and CIS qualifiers scheduled for October 6th-9th.
Back in March, Alisports announced a new tournament – WESG (World Electronic Sports Games). The event was reported to feature various disciplines, including Dota 2 and CS:GO, with $1.5 million prize pools each – boasting a $5.5 million total prize fund across all the gaming divisions featured. The LAN Finals are set to take place in Shanghai, China, in December.
