WESG Group Stage are getting ready to kick off. The next two days will see 24 national teams from around the world including Team Romania, Team Ukraine, Cloud 9, Alliance, Horde, MVP.Revolution, Fantastic Five, TNC Pro, INFAMOUS, and Commanche competing to find a place into the playoff stage and a slice of the $1,500,000 prize pool. Action starts bright and early on Thursday, January 12th at 04:30 CET.
The WESG Group Stage will take place over the course of two days – January 12-13th in Changzhou, China.
National Teams from across the world will meet on the battle field, vying for one of twelve coveted places ( three spots per group) in the playoff portion. Twelve teams total will be knocked out at the end of the WESG Group Stage empty handed.
Well known players and rosters including – Team Romania, Team Ukraine, Cloud 9, Alliance, Horde, MVP.Revolution, Fantastic Five, TNC Pro, INFAMOUS, and Commanche are all expected to bring pride back home to their nation and fans.
WESG Group Stage: Format
Dota 2 will feature 24 contenders from across four regions at the WESG 2016 Finals. Teams have been broken up into four groups.
- Four groups of six teams each
- Round-Robin
- First place teams go straight to the quarterfinals
- Bottom three teams of each group are eliminated

AliSports is a subsidiary of the organization dedicated to the promotion of sports in China. It also has a Chinese sports TV channel and collaborates with many sports federations.
