ViCi Gaming have secured their place among the top teams in Kiev Major regional qualifiers after besting EHOME.Keen 2:1 in the grand finals of the Kiev Major China Open Qualifiers. The first round of the Kiev Major Chinese Open Qualifiers has come to an end. The second round of Open Qualifiers starts tomorrow, March 8th.
ViCi Gaming secured a spot in the regional qualifiers after coming out on top in the Kiev Major Chinese Open Qualifiers. One of the various teams in the ViCi Gaming organization, ViCi Gaming survived the brutal best-of-one rounds to advance further into the brackets.
The once Chinese giants bested Newbee.Boss – a fearsome opponent in the semi finals with a 2:1 victory – mounting a compelling comeback after their initial loss. They then went head to head against EHOME.Keen. A relatively quick and easy victory was followed up by a very harrowing hour long match in which they were unable to fully rebound from the midgame loss. ViCi Gaming put it quickly behind them and with a flawless game by Zeng “Ori” Jiaoyang, the team quickly pushed EHOME.Keen out of contention.
ViCi Gaming will go up against iG Vitality, CAVALRY, Vici Gaming Potential, Invictus Gaming, LGD Gaming CDEC Gaming, LGD.Forever Young and two other teams still to be determined, in the Kiev Major Chinese Regional Qualifiers, scheduled to take place between March 11-12.
The Kiev Major will be held in Kiev, Ukraine, between April 27-30th, at National Palace of Arts, with a set $3,000,000 prize pool. Sixteen teams will compete at the main event hosted by PGL.
Kiev Major Open Qualifiers
Much like for the previous year’s Majors, there will be two opportunities for teams to compete in the Open Qualifiers for the Kiev Major. Two rounds of Open Qualifier will be hosted: the first Open Qualifier will take place on the 6th and 7th of March, while the second Open Qualifier will follow on the 8th and 9th of March. Teams are able to register and participate in both sets of events.
