As the first day of StarSeries Season XII comes to a close, ViCi Gaming advance to the Grand Finals to be held tomorrow while Invictus Gaming will drop to the Lower Brackets to face Cloud 9 and Team Tinker has been eliminated.
ViCi Gaming vs Invictus Gaming
Game 1
IG picked up their signature Queen of Pain and the Juggernaut for Zhilei Xu “BurNing”. While the early game seemed to be going in favor of IG, ViCi Gaming was able to capitalize on two fights approximately 25 minutes into the game, gaining the lead and some momentum needed to change the course of the game. VG was able to pick off BurNing and continued on to the bottom barracks. IG was able to defend their base but when BurNing bought back at minute 37, dying back one minute later, the team was unable to defend their base and VG overtook the barracks ending the first game.
Game 2
Second game saw IG draft a Kunnka on support played by Zeng Hongda “Faith”. Both Chen Zhihao “Hao” and Xie Junhao “Super” were shut down early resulting in Troll not being farmed and Magnus having a very delayed blink dagger. Not only did Luo Feichi “Ferrari_430” have a 7k networth by the 10th minute, but by the end of the game he would have a 19-0-11 score, participating in 30 out of the 38 kills on VG, and earning 723 gold per minute. The game was a complete domination from early on by IG, ending in just under 30 minutes. The game evened out the series between the two Chinese teams, requiring the third game to decide who will advance to the grand finals.
Game 3
The deciding game in the best of three series was of little contest for ViCi Gaming. Game ended in less than 20 minutes with a score of 25-5. ViCi Gaming drafted Tidehunter for Daryl Koh “iceiceice” and Invoker for Xie Junhao “Super”, along with Phantom Lancer for Chen Zhihao “Hao”. IG chose Templar Assassin, Troll Warlord and Spirit Breaker. VG was able to easily win each of their lanes from the very start, and dominated in all team fights. VG had quite a gold advantage over IG, with even Xu Linsen “fy”‘s Crystal Maiden sitting at a higher networth than all of IG’s heroes. IG called the “GG” as it was clear there was nothing that would change the course of the game.

Cloud 9 vs Team Tinker
Game 1
Cloud9 started the best of three series with a pushing lineup featuring Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao’s Lycan and Adrian “FATA-“ Trinks’s Beastmaster. With well-timed pushes and overwhelming aggression, Cloud9 managed to destroy all their opponent’s outer towers by the 26th minute. Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier’s Sniper was controlled by the use of Spirit Breaker, taking him out of team fights and from getting too farmed. This would turn out to be the first game in the tournament that Sniper lost. The game was rather “quick” for Cloud 9 standards ending in 43 minutes. Cloud 9 convincingly took the first game, fighting towards the grand finals.
Game 2
Cloud9 chose Night Stalker for Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein, to compliment their Magnus-Juggernaut duo. “BigDaddy”. Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen on SkyWrath Mage and Pittner “bOne7” Armand on Earth Shaker focused on keeping Max “qojqva” Bröcker’s Storm Spirit under control and under farmed. Meanwhile Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao’s Juggernaut continued to be able to farm effectively and efficiently, and after an unprecedented 26 minute game from Cloud 9, the game was finished and Team Tinker ended their participation in StarSeries Season XII.
With Team Tinker’s elimination from the tournament, Cloud 9 will face Invictus Gaming in the Lower Bracket finals at 10:00 CEST.
