The TI6 SEA Qualifiers results are in after a long and eventful day in the group stage segment of the competition.
WG.Unity has taken the lead over their region – the same feat they accomplished after the first day of the Manila Major SEA Regional Qualifiers. After playing a five matches – the most played for SEA, they dropped only one match and are in the lead with 4 points. The Malaysian team still has four more matches tomorrow, their first being against Fnatic.
The Mongolz and Orange.Taring both have only been able to secure a single win so far and are hedging on a successful day to ensure a place in the playoffs.
The matches resume on June 26, at 04:00 CEST, and are expected to be intense, as the teams continue their quest towards the second stage of the qualifiers – the double elimination brackets.
TI6 SEA Qualifiers results, day 1
WG.Unity had another great opening day similar to their Manila Major SEA Regional qualifiers first day. The team took down Rave, Signature.Trust and XctN before losing their first match to Orange.Taring. In order to be able to progress this time, the Malaysian team will need to continue on this pace to ensure either the first spot to advance to TI6 or at least to be one of four teams to advance to the playoff stage.
TnC went strong for the beginning of the day, taking out their first three opponents – Fnatic, The Mongolz and XctN. Their only dropped game was their last – against Signature.Trust. Their impressive record for a team that had to seize their place in the second open qualifiers lands them in second place.
Fnatic started out their run with average results, less than what they had been expecting. The Malaysian based team ended with a 3:2 record, taking their first and last game as losses against XctN and TnC respectively. They bested Orange.Taring, The Mongolz, and White Fries in three relatively easy matches. Their fight against White Fries lasted a mere 22 mins.
Execration has tied up with both Fnatic and Mineski in their record so far – after taking wins off of both of them. The Filipino team also defeated The Mongolz but lost at the hands of the two leading teams – TnC and WarriorsGaming.Unity.
Mineski has started out with mixed results, leaving the day tied with Fnatic and XctN in a 3:2 record. Dropping to Rave and XctN, they picked up wins against Signature.Trust, The Mongolz and White Fries Gaming.
Rave‘s Raveolution has started out slowly in the TI6 SEA Qualifiers. With an even 2:2 score they ended the day on a high-note after a strong finish against Mineski. The reformed TI5 hopefuls had also taking a win against Orange.Taring but lost to WarriorsGaming.Unity and White Fries Gaming.
White Fries Gaming struggled in their first day, more than was expected of a team boasting two well known and veteran players. The team is in the negative with a 2:3 record, losing to WarriorsGaming.Unity, Fnatic and Mineski. Taking their wins against Rave and Orange.Taring, they will need to step it tomorrow for a chance to be able to advance into the playoff round.
Signature.Trust had a rough start only being able to secure two wins. They did manage to take a win off the top place team – TnC and show they have flashes of brilliance, but they will need to make improvements by tomorrow for any chance to continue their journey to TI6.
The Mongolz and Orange.Taring are both in tight positions at the bottom of the group. Their one win each against Signature.Trust and WarriorsGaming.Unity respectively will making this difficult for them tomorrow to climb back up the ladder.
