The TI6 EU Qualifiers results are in after a long and eventful day in the group stage segment of the competition.
Virtus.Pro and Team Secret both had incredibly strong showings today, leading in the group stage and taking four wins out of their whopping five matches already.
Flipsid3 Tactics and Team Empire both have only been able to secure a single win so far and are needing to start the second day swinging from the gate and not letting up once.
The matches resume on June 26, at 10:00 CEST, and are expected to be intense, as the teams continue their quest towards the second stage of the qualifiers – the double elimination brackets.
TI6 EU Qualifiers results, day 1
Virtus.pro started out the group stage very strong, taking down first Team Empire, then Power Rangers and Team Secret. They dropped a match to Alliance but picked themselves back up again to crush Vega Squadron in their last match of the day. With a 4:1 record they are sitting high and mighty, tied with the Shanghai Major Champions – Team Secret.
Team Secret were forced to qualify for the event and had a few games that were close in the Open Qualifiers. However, none would have assumed that after seeing the European antagonists wipe through their opponents today. The mix wiped through Power Rangers and Alliance before suffering a loss at the hands of Virtus.Pro. Team Secret then defeated Vega and completely destroyed Ad Finem in a match that they led 13:0 in the first 11 minutes. Their record keeps them tied for first with Virtus.Pro going into the second day.
Fantastic Five ended their run in the TI6 EU open qualifiers late into the night, giving their team members only 2 or barely more hours of rest before tackling the TI6 EU open qualifiers group stage. The team went head first into the opening match, undaunted by their lack of rest and claimed their first victory against Alliance. They dropped their first and only match after – against Escape Gaming (formerly No Diggity) but headed back in strong to knock down Flipsid3 Tactics and Team Empire.
Alliance ended their first day on the positive side with 3:2 record, but overall was mediocre results for what fans had expected. After losing their opening match against F5, they then dropped to Team Secret. Their third match was set against Escape Gaming featuring their coach and many were concerned about the advantage that might give the European mix over the Swedes. But Alliance rallied back and took the win -student schooling teacher victory. The Swedish squad then also took the wins over Virtus.Pro and Flipsid3 Tactics to end out their day.
Ad Finem ended up on the negative side of the groups after they were annihilated by Team Secret in their last match of the day. It took the Greek Squad 11 minutes to secure their first kill – after Team Secret had already taken 13. Ad Finem lost to Power Rangers and Team Empire, giving both of those teams their only victories.
Vega Squadron ended their first day of the TI6 EU qualifiers with a deficit in their score 2:3. They dropped their first match to F3, but bounced back to take out Team Empire and Power Rangers. They rounded out the day with a loss to Team Secret and being crushed by Virtus.Pro. The team is in the lower end of their group stage and will need to step up their game tomorrow to secure a place in the playoffs.
Escape Gaming clinched their place in the upper half of the group stage in their last match where they destroyed Empire with ease. The victory gave the European mix a 3:2 record, after also defeating F3 and F5 earlier in the day. Their losses came by Alliance and Ad Finem.
Power Rangers struggled right off the bat. They were defeated by Team Secret, Virtus.Pro and Vega before they could seize their first and only win of the group stage so far – against Ad Finem. The CIS based team will be playing their hearts out to climb the ladders tomorrow after their 1:3 record, trying to claim all five of their remaining games.
Team Empire ended up tied with Flipsid3 Tactics in last place, each taking only one win in their five matches played. Team Empire was able to take a victory off of Ad Finem while F3 took theirs off of Vega. Both teams have only four matches left to play and will need to take all of the games to have a chance to progress to the playoffs.

(969 comments)Empire was more the surprising one. They were consistent this year but now. Smh. The most important tournament of the year and they are playing like this.

(868 comments)They looked really good before the Manila Major. After that it has been a downhill ride. I think it’s just a temporary thing. Too bad it’s in the most important time of the year, the TI qualifiers.
