TI6 Chinese Regional Qualifiers results, day 1
Invictus Gaming had a fantastic showing in their first day at the TI6 Chinese qualifiers. The Chinese veterans really stepped it up and took control of their matches. They started out by taking down Wings then IG.Vitality and Newbee.Young before dropping their game against EHOME. They then picked up the pieces and defeated CDEC.Youth to round out their day. Their 4:1 record places them tied for first.
Wings Gaming was expected to do well and they didn’t disappoint. After suffering at a loss at the the hands of IG right out of the gates, Wings then rebounded back to to take their next four matches – CDEC.Youth, TongFu, CDEC and ViCi Gaming.
EHOME.cn had defeated CDEC and ViCi Gaming before losing their first and only match against ViCi Gaming.Reborn. They then went on overpower Newbee.Young and IG for their 4:1 record.
Vici Gaming Reborn also looked strong on this first day. Although they lost their opening match against ViCi Gaming, they went on to win their next four matches against Newbee.Youth, EHOME, CDEC.Youth and TongFu.
Vici Gaming rounds out the top 5 spots today. They ended on a negative side with 2:3 score, tied with CDEC. The team will need to take much more control and set the tempo in order to climb back up the ladder for a chance in the playoffs. ViCi Gaming’s two wins were over their sister team ViCi Gaming.Reborn and CDEC – losing to EHOME, Invictus.Gaming Vitality and Wings.
CDEC Gaming are tied for 5th place with their negative 2:3 record. The team was able to only secure victories against TongFu and IG.Vitality, suffering their losses to Wings, EHOME and ViCi Gaming.
iG Vitality is sitting at an even 2:2 record. The team took down CDEC.Youth and ViCi Gaming but were not able to defeat IG or CDEC.
CDEC Youth and TongFu are both close to the bottom of the group, having each securing only one win each. CDEC.Youth took down TongFu while TongFu took a match off of Newbee.Young.
Newbee Young had the most devastating start. Without securing a single win in the first day, the road to the playoffs is looking to be very difficult, if not near impossible.
