The TI6 Americas Qualifiers standings are in after the second day has concluded for the group stage.
As had been evidenced in the first day of the event, the Americas region continued to be fairly one-sided and short, with the exception of a one hour long match between Digital Chaos and compLexity towards the end of the day. Surprising was the need for a tie-breaker after the last two matches played out.
Evil Geniuses and compLexity had to compete in a tiebreaker for the first place position.
After the dust had settled, Evil Geniuses has become the first team from Americas to earn their place at TI6. The TI5 championship team will return to Seattle to defend their title after having traveled to the main stage all the way from the Open Qualifiers.
TI6 Americas Qualifiers standings yield the four regional teams that will advance to the playoffs. compLexity Gaming, Digital Chaos, FDL and Void Boys will fight for the second spot at TI6 as well as the TI6 Wild Card series spot.
Drinking Boys and Vultur have been eliminated.
TI6 Americas Qualifiers standings day 2
TI6 America Qualifiers standings tie-breaker
compLexity Gaming and Evil Geniuses had to compete in a one game tie-breaker after they both had finished with a 5:1 score. After compLexity had served Evil Geniuses their only loss at the end of the day, with EG taking the win off Digital Chaos the score was tied.
TI6 Americas Qualifiers standings playoff and eliminated teams
The day started off with Void Boys taking a def loss against Digital Chaos when Eric “747” Dong did not show up for the match. Despite their first game loss, the American/Canadian mix was able to qualify for the playoffs. Void Boys and FDL both ended the group stage with a 3:3 record.
Digital Chaos looked struggled a bit more in this second day. Getting their fist match as a defwin they took out FDL but lost at the hands of both compLexity and Evil Geniuses. Their match vs compLexity took one hour to determine a winner and was the longest match of the TI6 Americas qualifiers.
Both Vultur and Drinking Boys ended at the bottom. Drinking Boys had managed to take one victory against Vultur, while Vultur was able to claim none.

(868 comments)TI won’t ever be easy. People didn’t believe in them last year and they won it. If anyone can defend a TI title, it’s EG
