Team Secret’s official announcement of their new roster comes after much speculation and rumors, and before the required date of the new roster lock for the first Major that will take place in November.
Following the post TI5 shuffle, Cloud 9 was one of the first teams to officially disband, leaving Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao and Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen to search for a new team.
Shortly after, it was confirmed that Artour “Arteezy” Babaev had departed from Team Secret to join Evil Geniuses and it was confirmed that Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg was taking a break to finish school. The departure of the two members left openings in the team and brought about much speculation about Team Secret’s future.
Aliwi “w33haa″ Omar announced yesterday that he had officially left his team 4CL and would be announcing his new team soon.
Johan “pieliedie” Åström was last seen playing for Mousesports, which had officially disbanded in mid July, two months following their participation in the TI5 European Qualifiers. The qualifiers’ favorites, Mousesports, were eliminated by Archon (then known as North American Rejects), 2:1, in the Lower Bracket finals.

Clement “Puppey” Ivanov
One of the most successful players in the Dota 2 scene, Puppey’s first four years of gaming were mainly playing in various teams and compositions with some accomplishments. It wasn’t until June of 2011 that Clement would find himself a home on Na’Vi, where he would be a stable and prominent key-player for the next three years.
Only two months after joining Na’Vi with Ivan “ArtStyle” Antonov, Danil “Dendi” Ishutin, Oleksandr “XBOCT” Dashkevych, and Dmitriy “LighTofHeaveN” Kupriyanov, The International 1 was at hand and the team got an invite, after having received the beta keys to play the game only three weeks before. Na’Vi went undefeated throughout the whole tournament, winning the unprecedented $1,000,000 grand prize. Puppey’s professionalism and talent landed him the captain role for the team after the departure of ArtStyle post-TI1. Under Clement’s leadership, Na’Vi would accumulate innumerable championship titles through the remainder of his tenure with them, including second place at TI2 and TI3.
Following the unsatisfying results at TI4, Puppey and teammate Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi parted ways with the Ukrainian organization and formed Team Secret.
Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao
Canadian player Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao is one of the most polarizing personalities in the Dota 2 scene. Dota 2 enthusiasts either love him or hate him. However, no one can disagree that he is one of the those few players who genuinely try hard and give everything they can to the game.
Jacky started playing Dota 2 professionally in April, 2012. In September of the same year, he founded a new team, No Tidehunter, together with Swedish solo-mid star s4. The team ended up winning their debut tournament, going undefeated, and more success followed as they qualified for ESWC 2012, with a win over Evil Geniuses. In mid October, two of the members – Harrison “kizzles” and Dominik “Black^” Reitmeier Chang – were replaced with Jonathan “Loda” Berg and Joakim “Akke” Akterhal.
Jacky’s first LAN would be DreamHack Winter 2012, where No Tidehunter snatched the championship title from the tournament favorites Team Empire and Evil Geniuses. The new sponsorship from Alliance was announced. In a surprising turn of events, Jacky was kicked from his own team shortly after, in February 2013. In March, he would join Kaipi as the carry player. Kaipi lead to Rattlesnake.int, which later turned into Speed Gaming and was signed by Cloud 9.
Jacky “Eternal Envy” Mao remains one of the prominent players in the scene. He is well known for his no holds barred approach to expressing himself. While his rants are intended to bring about change and transpire issues that are going on in the Dota 2 scene, the message is often lost in his approach and disrespectful communication style.
Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen
Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen is one of the few players who can boast having attended all five International events, albeit as a part of five different teams: Meet Your Makers (TI1), Counter Logic Gaming (TI2), LGD.international (TI3), Mousesports (TI4), and now Cloud 9 (TI5). placed eleventh at TI4, with Mousesports, alongside current Cloud 9 teammate Fata-.
The Danish player started his professional Dota career in 2008, as a semi-carry player. He started in DotA 1, but transitioned into Dota 2 together with his team MYM to play at The International 2011. They finished fourth, but disbanded within days. He was then picked up by Evil Geniuses in October of the same year year, but ended up parting ways with the organization in May, to join Counter Logic Gaming.
In October 2012, he made the move to China to join LGD.international and even switched to a carry role. However, 10 months later and only two achievements to show for his time in China, he announced his departure from the team, citing communication issues and failure to renew his visa. Together with FATA-, he joined Team Dog, which was signed up by Mousesports right before The International 4. After a disappointing eleventh place finish, the team disbanded and Rasmus started to stand in for Alliance and Team Secret before settling into Cloud 9 during the January 2015 reshuffle.
Johan “pieliedie” Åström
Johan “pieliedie” Åström is a very aggressive support player who is known to give a lot of assistance to the mid role.
He started playing Dota 2 competitively in 2012 when he was quickly recruited to join the newly formed team Kaipi. Pieliedie remained with that team through the numerous roster changes and when the team transitioned to being picked up by Rattlesnake.International then renamed SpeedGaming and then eventually Cloud 9.
While part of the Kaipi through Cloud 9 history, Johan enjoyed numerous top three finishes in major tournaments and championship titles, including a commendable sixth place finish at The International 4.
During the great western reshuffle in January 2015, the Swedish player, along with Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling, was replaced by Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein and Rasmus “MiSeRy” Filipsen.
Johan then joined team MeePwn’d for a short period of time before switching to Team Tinker, being picked up by Mousesports in early May.
Omar “w33haa” Aliwi
Aliwi “w33” Omar started his Dota 2 professional career playing with Balkan Bears in 2014. He quickly made a name for himself climbing in the MMR ladder and for his Meepo hero plays. In January 2015 he joined MeePwn’d for two months before returning back to Balkan Bears for another two months. In May he joined 4 Clover & Lepricon.
Shortly after joining his team MeePwn’d, W33 was involved in some controversy when he wascaught cheating during a friendly match in European Elite League. His ban from the league was later revoked.
