Team Secret Eliminated by Alliance in StarSeries Season XII

StarSeries Season XII started bright and early for Alliance vs Team Secret to compensate for the delay yesterday. Alliance fought hard and defeated Team Secret 2-0 in the Lower Brackets, giving them the opportunity to move forward yet again and eliminated Team Secret from the rest of the tournament.

Game 1

Drafts in the first game in the series were quite aggressive with Team Secret choosing Spirit Breaker and Troll Warlord, and counter pick of Viper for The Alliance. Early, Gustav “s4” Magnusson was on a roll, getting lucky with 3 haste runs in 11 mins, however by 20 minutes into the game, Alliance was already in Team Secret’s base with a score of 11-5. In less than 30 minutes the game was over with Alliance having dominated the game from the start.

Game 2

Team Secret looked serious entering into the second match and when s4 safelane Queen of Pain took 1st blood on Niclas “Niqua” Westergard Clockwerk with good sleep initiation by Clement “Puppey” Ivanov on Bane, things looked as if Team Secret was ready to fight hard to remain in the tournament. The game progressed with a few attempts to gank Artour “Arteezy” Babaev on Shadow Fiend mid lane resulting in bad trade offs from Alliance. In addition, with Per Anders “Pajkatt” Olsson sniper being ranked 6th in net-worth Alliance appeared to be struggling. The turn around came from Jonathan “Loda” Berg as he double stunned both supports of Team Secret allowing Pjkatt to land a rampage, and his magnificent fight close to the lower rune near Roshan. Following these turns of events Pjkatt was able to recover and then later go on “Beyond GodLike” streak. From there, a few Roshan and ageis claims was the edge Alliance needed to be able to take the game under control. An impressive win for Alliance and Loda MVP of the game.

Alliance will continue on in the Lower Bracket Semi Finals while Team Secret has been eliminated.
