Team Empire clinched their first championship title in months – wiping out Vega Squadron 3:0 in the Grand Finals of the Global Grand Master last night. The CIS team will walk away with the $25,000 prize and hopes for a better upcoming season.
Team Empire seemed to easily wipe the floor clean with Vega Squadron with their overwhelming 3:0 victory in the Grand Finals.
Coming into the series with a one game win advantage after advancing through the upper brackets – they wasted no time in tearing into their CIS counterparts. Despite Vega having the advantage in the first match and a fantastic game played by Andrey “Mag” Chipenko on his signature Broodmother, it was Dmitry “Undershock” Kostrov’s storm spirit that stole the show and the victory out from under them.
The second game lasted a mere 21 minutes and was an easy and convincing victory for Team Empire with their Drow Ranger-Medusa Core combo.
Team Empire’s last title was obtained for BTS 2 in February. The CIS team released Roman “Scandal” Sadotenkov from their lineup July 13th and have since been playing with stand-ins.

(868 comments)They played awful in the qualifiers, so I guess they got what they deserved. Still, they played really well last couple of games, I hope they can bounce back from not attending TI.

(868 comments)So is this guy Undershock playing for one team now or is he just a standin for everyone? I remember seeing him play for PR right when they kicked Ar1se, and he performed really well, just like here.
