Summit 4 results day 2 guaranteed Evil Geniuses a top 3 place as they advanced further into the Upper Brackets. Both Digital Chaos and Team Liquid fell to the TI5 Champions, while Team Liquid had sent EHOME to the lower brackets. The action resumes today with the two Lower Bracket series Mineski vs Virtus.Pro at 19:00 CET, followed by EHOME vs Digital Chaos. Two teams will be eliminated. The third day will end with Upper Bracket finals between ViCi Gaming and Evil Geniuses.

The Summit 4 results continue to prove that the laid back, iconic “couch” event delivers on exciting and unpredictable matches, as it had done the on the first day. With three series being forced into third game deciders and a few surprising twists, the second day has delighted many fans.

The second day featured four teams – EHOME, Evil Geniuses, Digital Chaos and Team Liquid.
EHOME vs Team Liquid were first on the agenda. Team Liquid was looking strong in the first match with a quick, one sided game in which the Europeans seemed to have full control and confidence over. EHOME responded in the second game with an Anti-Mage pick whose item build and results left viewers in disbelief. By the end Chen “Cty” Tianyu was at the top of the net-worth with 32k gold, more than twice the amount of Team Liquid’s most farmed hero. Team Liquid then went on to claim the third game victory with a draft that gave them healing, damage and mobility. With the 2:1 victory, Liquid advanced in the upper brackets, EHOME dropped to the lower brackets.

The second series of the North American Clash began shortly thereafter, with much hype and anticipation as Peter “ppd” Dager had claimed earlier that “DC has 0% chance of winning”. The series ended up being close, pushing into a deciding third game that was very close and exciting before EG were able to find their opening to claim the win. While Digital Chaos did take the first game from the TI5 champions, the second game favored EG in a rather convincing way. With the last game victory, EG bested DC 2:1 sending the new North American hopefuls to the lower brackets.
The Upper Bracket semi finals between Evil Geniuses and Team Liquid rounded out the day. The first match was very one sided in favor of the Europeans. With Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen’s ursa, the team were able to easily cinch the victory in only 32 minutes. PPD is not one to be taken twice usually, and was quick to adjust and adapt the strategies and leadership. The North American team easily claimed the second game in redemption for their first performance with Syed Sumail “Suma1L” Hassan and Artour “Arteezy” Babaev leading the pack. The final determining game was back and forth and much closer as both teams were striving to keep themselves in the upper brackets. After 55 minutes of game play EG were able to seize the victory, defeating Team Liquid 2:1, and advancing further in the upper brackets.

The Summit 4 format
The Summit 4 will be unfolded in a double elimination bracket format. All eight teams will start in the Upper Brackets and all matches will be best-of-three. The grand finals will be best-of-five, with no Upper Bracket advantage.
Four teams will compete on the first day, December 9th, followed by the remaining four teams competing on the second day. December 11th will be the first day two teams will be eliminated. Three teams will be eliminated the following day, during the Lower Bracket quarter and semi finals. The final three teams will compete on the last day of the event, December 13th, for the Lower Bracket finals and Grand finals.
