Summit 4 day 1 recap upholds the theory that the event would bring forward nail biting series and entertaining Dota. Three series played, already give rise to the Chinese and force OG to take the long road of recovery. Both OG and VP have dropped to the Lower Brackets, while ViCi Gaming advance to the Winner Finals. The action resumes today with the EHOME vs Liquid series at 19:00 CET, followed by the North American clash of Digital Chaos vs Evil Geniuses.

The Summit 4 day 1
The Summit 4 day 1 delivered on the belief that the event would bring forth exciting and unpredictable matches as it features eight of the most promising teams.
The event kicked off with the rising stars of SEA – Mineski- against Europe’s new sweethearts, OG. The series was pretty much one sided in favor of the Europeans with both games being relatively quick and easy for them. Admittedly, Mineski is using Jio “Jeyo” Madayag as a stand in for drafter and midlaner, Ryan Jay “Bimbo” Qui, who could not travel due to visa issues. The absence of their player is evident in their drafts and lack of the same cohesion present in the previous matches. OG were able to sweep through easily 2:0 and knock the Philippine team to the Lower Brackets.
The second series of the day pitted ViCi Gaming against the new Virtus.Pro lineup featuring Airat “Silent” Gaziev. ViCi Gaming have often taken on the role of the antagonist in the storyline. The troublesome opponent is often unpredictable and yields unexpected results and epic comebacks. The series would continue to support their reputation as a Vengeful Spirit carry by Xu “BurNIng” Zhilei would upset the CIS team. Taking the support hero to another level, he ended the game with a 10:4:15 score and second in net-worth on the charts. The deciding third game was a full on marathon lasting over 70 minutes. With an incredible amount of damage coming out from BurNIng’s Ember Spirit ViCi Gaming were able to take the late game win, besting VP 2:1.
The last match up of the Summit 4 day 1 was between OG and ViCi Gaming. Armed with an interesting and unconventional draft, ViCi Gaming once again chose Vengeful Spirit for BurNIng and a Tusk for Daryl “iceiceice” Koh, a hero that is always entertaining to watch him play. Andreas “Cr1t-“ Franck Nielsen managed to steal Track and then turned a five man wipe into an over 9000 gold swing. However, with a few critical swaps by BurNIng, Vici Gaming were still able to claim the victory. With OG’s draft of Tal “Fly” Aizik’s Dazzle, a huskar and a meepo for Johan “BigDaddy” Sundstein, the Europeans settled things up quickly and forced the deciding game. For the third game, Vici Gaming went with a very tanky lineup and ran over the European team. The game was incredibly one-sided and in 30 minutes ViCi Gaming seize the victory 2:1, forcing OG into the Lower Brackets.
