Shanghai Major America Qualifiers results: Archon leads

The Shanghai Major America Qualifiers results are in, as day 1 has come to an end. Team Archon, Shazam~ and Power of Friendship are the front runners for the groups. Leviathan and NoT Today are in last place with no wins to their name. The second day of the Round Robin group stage will pick up again on January 8th, at 19:00 CET.

The Shanghai Major America Qualifiers results are in after a long and eventful day has concluded for the group stage segment of the competition.

Team Archon is topping the Americas in their victories so far. Taking five wins, they are in the lead of their group and overall. Power of Friendship and Shazam~, both teams that had been formed for the Shanghai Majors are tied for first in group B with 3 wins each.

compLexity Gaming is sitting in the middle of the group with one win, but have only played two matches so far.

Digital Chaos and Elite Wolves are currently tied for second in their group with three wins apiece.

Leviathan and NoT Today surprisingly have had no wins and are both sitting at the bottom of their groups.

The matches resume on January 8th, at 19:00 CET, and are expected to be intense as the teams continue their quest towards the second stage of the qualifiers – the double elimination brackets.

Shanghai Major America Qualifiers results day 1 Group A

Team Archon has been dominating the opponents and demonstrating their determination to take a spot in the Shanghai Major. They were able to sweep through Leviathan and Elite Wolves 2:0, losing only one match in their series against Void Boys. The team has clearly spent time creating strategies that have worked well in giving them success for the qualifiers and are setting new trends in the meta.

Digital Chaos have been working hard to secure themselves a spot in the upper brackets of the playoffs as they swept through Leviathan 2:0 and split their series with Elite Wolves 1:1.

Elite Wolves are tied with Digital Chaos with three points for their series win against Void Boys 2:0 and their split with the NA team DC 1:1. They will continue today with the hopes to surpass Aui and company to secure their place in the upper brackets for the playoffs.

Shanghai Major America Qualifiers results day 1 Group B

Shazam~ has taken a position at the top of the groups. The team, a reformed version of Cloud 9 with Mason “mason” Venne in lieu of Theeban “1437” Siva , was able to sweep through Team Freedom 2:0 and split the series against compLexity 1:1 for a great start. The squad has only played two series so far, but has hopes to ride on their momentum in day 2.

Power of Friendship are tied for the first spot with Shazam~. The team was formed only one month ago for the Shanghai majors and features Chris “USH” Usher on a new role. The squad has shown much promise and potential in the first day taking their series against NoT Today 2:0 and splitting the series against Team Freedom 1:1.

With one win each from split series, both Team Freedom and compLexity Gaming will need to work hard to push ahead for the playoffs.

Shanghai Major America Qualifiers format

  • The ten teams have been divided into two Round Robin groups of five.
  • Top two teams will advance to a double elimination bracket.
  • First place team will start in the Upper Brackets.
  • Runner-up team will start in the Lower Brackets.
  • The first and second place teams from the Shanghai Major America Qualifiers will advance to the main event in Shanghai, China.
