Red Bull Heroicks is a new tournament being hosted by Red Bull this year. Four teams will be invited and one German team will qualify to compete in the unique tournament being held at Castle Rastatt in Germany, between September 17th-18th. Virtus.Pro, OG and Alliance have already confirmed their participation in the event.
Red Bull has announced a new tournament being held between September 17th-18th: Red Bull Heroicks.
Four top international teams and one qualified German team will compete at the 300-year-old Castle Rastatt in Germany, in front of 5,000 fans.
The event will feature a new tournament mode, similar to last year’s Red Bull Battle Grounds. Each of the five participating teams starts with three lives. When a team has lost all three lives, they’re eliminated from the tournament.
To make things even more interesting, the format has a twist this year. The winner of the match will choose the next two teams to compete and the new Hero Challenge allows the audience to select two heroes that can not be banned each game.
Red Bull Heroicks teams
- Alliance
- OG
- Virtus.Pro
- One Pro team TBA
- One qualified team TBD
Red Bull Heroicks qualifier
To encourage the growth of the German Dota 2 scene, teams hoping to compete in the Qualifiers for the Red Bull Heroicks must be primarily German.
- In order for teams to participate in the qualifiers, the lineup has to contain at least three German players.
- Four online qualifiers will be held from June to August.
- Four teams will advance to the offline qualifier on site at Castle Rastatt, on Friday, September 16th.
- One team will advance to the main event.
- Registration info and dates will be released soon.

(868 comments)This is actually one of the coolest ideas for a tournament ever… I mean, it’s still doesn’t mean that the hero will get picked, but the interaction with the fans is awesome

(868 comments)Yeah, the tournament is pretty cool. But it’s not that hard to make it cool when you have the $$$. Still well played Red Bull.

June 18, 2016 at 2:40 pmbakala
(868 comments)They have a big chance at winning it, but it’s not just an OG lan… It’s a small tournament with big names

(306 comments)PLEASE NO OG LAN, COZ THEY CANT WIN TI IF THEY WIN THIS

(868 comments)They are the strongest team in Dota right now, you really expected them not to get invited? Everyone wants OG in their tournaments, especially the new ones, and Red bull has the $$$

(868 comments)Btw, the tournament is after TI, so it doesn’t affect them winning TI in any sense
